space to hire at the Ship of Adventures The Ship of Adventures is a flagship new space in Hackney. Its unique rooms both host the educational activities of The Hackney Pirates, and are available to hire out by others for meetings, events and workshops. The underwater-themed basement houses our after-school workshops; the high street level ship hull is our gift shop and café; and the upper decks include offices and multi-function rooms used by other educational organisations. We work with young people in Hackney to develop literacy, confidence and perseverance, by providing extra adult attention from volunteers in an inspiring learning environment. The Spaces Enter The Ship of Adventures through THE DECK. This is the hull of our ship and is home to our high street gift shop and café. It is full of hidden decorative delights for guests to explore and has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The space can hold up to 40 guests and is perfect for evening receptions, book launches, small performances and community events. Climb through the secret passageway, tiptoe down our bookcase stairs and below The Deck you will find THE DEEP. This lower ground floor space is a fantastical environment with an underwater cave structure, atmospheric lighting, and deep-sea themed décor. The space can be used for a variety of events with a stage, projector and flexible working space. The space is ideal for company away days, parties, exhibitions and performances for up to 60 guests. THE IDEAS ROOM on the first floor is a space for imagination and inspiration. With one wall entirely used as a blackboard, a tropical-themed mural and even a fish tank, this is the place to get ideas flowing. The space can seat 20 theatre style, 12 boardroom style, or hold 30 standing. It is perfect for meetings, classes, workshops or small events. Availabilty The Deep Weekdays - 9am-3pm, 7.30pm-10pm (term time) Outside of term time availability will vary dependant on planned holiday workshops, please ask for further information. All food and drink at the cafe is freshly made and prepared by our catering partner, Compass Coffee. Compass Coffee is an innovative new enterprise set on finding the most exciting ingredients and products that local roasters, bakers, and treat makers have to offer. They can provide anything from light lunches to full buffets and prices range from 2 to 8 per person. Please ask for our latest catering menu. The Ship of Adventures is situated in the heart of Hackney, and is easily accessible from all parts of London. We are situated less than 5 minutes walk from Dalston Kingsland station (London Overground) and 10 minutes walk from Dalston Junction (London Overground), with quick connections to the Victoria, Central, District, Jubilee and Hammersmith & City lines. We are served by bus routes 67, 76, 149, 243 and 488. Our spaces are on the first floor, ground floor and basement level, and are all fully accessible.
