* MINUTES OF MEETING OF 17 May 2018* * 17 April 2018 No business meeting was held in April 2018. In its stead, we gathered at 1900 hrs., to honor one of our founding members and past commandant, Ed Liebenguth, who passed away in Florida. The tribute included a prayer, 21-gun salute, and playing of taps, followed by a toast to Ed and a fellowship gathering. Notes, etc. from the officers * COMMANDANT * To All Marines: First, Mike and I would like to thank the detachment for the support after our dad passed away. I received countless phones calls from members asking if we needed anything or if they could help in any way. Again thank you. Our big event is coming up so if any members need flyers or any info on the golf outing let me know. If this outing is as successful as the past I would like to look into warm boots for the Honor Guard this year. Semper Fi AL * SR. VICE COMMANDANT * As our golf outing is rapidly coming up, we need to work on our sponsors. Also, remember that all checks are to be made out to Bunker Hill Golf Course. And last, but not least, help is needed. * JR. VICE COMMANDANT * To All Marines: I wish to thank all for your thoughts and prayers. Semper Fi Mike None submitted * SERGEANT AT-ARMS * * JUDGE ADVOCATE * No report.

* CHAPLAIN OFFICE * RESTORING RELATIONSHIPS! A biblical step toward restoring a relationship is to take the initiative. Whether you are the offender or the offended, God expects you to make the first move. Don t wait for the other party. Go to that person first. Restoring broken fellowship is so important, Jesus commanded that it even take priority over group worship. When fellowship is strained or broken, plan a peace conference immediately. Don t procrastinate, make excuses, or promise, I ll get around to it someday. Schedule a face-to-face meeting as soon as possible. Delay only deepens resentment and makes matters worse. In conflict, time heals nothing. It only causes hurts to fester. Acting quickly also reduces the spiritual damage to you. The Bible says sin, including unresolved conflict, blocks our fellowship with God and keeps our prayers from being answered, besides making us miserable. The success of a peace conference often depends on choosing the right time and place to meet. Don t meet when you are tired, rushed, or could be interrupted. The best time is when you both are at your best. Do it now! PRAYER LIST: Mike Kirk, Rick Williams, Ron Kesek, Brian Morningstar (get to see him at April meeting), Dick Welan (facing some back surgery), Len Sobie, Steve Eggleston, Redman, Lyle Roberts, John Dague, Ed Robnett, Howard Osborne, Laura Oluich, Randy and Liz, Haywood and Connie, the Liegenguth family. Call me to add to list (330-730-7325) GOD BLESS Ray Notarian, Chaplain
229 Harding St B, Medina, OH 44256 330-722-0818 usa@zoominternet.net This is our unofficial shirt shop. They are located about half way down the North/South building just east of the bowling alley. They have the shirts but we have to provide the patches to be put on.
Incorporated August 2012 Medina County Unit, Marine Corps League Auxiliary May 15 will be our next regularly scheduled meeting at Pat Obrien Chevrolet dealership at 6:45 pm. We will need to discuss our up and coming events. Also, we need to hold our elections. We have only received one Scholarship application. I haven t worked on an ad to put in the Post and Gazette as yet. I will check on the cost of the ad and work on what to put in the ads. At the June Convention in Newark on Friday night while the Devil Dogs meet we will be having wine and cheese while being instructed on how to do and American Painting. This is something I have read about in the newspaper being done at different bars and it sounded like fun. We do not have much preparation to put this on. Just provide the wine and cheese. We Care in Medina is in need of the following items: toilet paper, disposable razors, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, shave cream lotion, paper towels, tissues, cleaning supplies, body wash, deodorant and feminine hygiene items. These are items people cannot purchase with food stamp program. Please bring to the next meeting or send with someone else. We can do this for two months so it isn t a hard ship on anyone. We need your support in any way you are able. Even if you can t attend the meetings your membership helps us. Or if you can t be at events but can donate towards that event in some way that is support also. Of course finding new members for us is a great support. Also, responding to emails sent to you is important. Very few of you are responding at all. We just returned from Gallipolis Ohio for the Department of West Virginia Convention. It rained the whole weekend. It cleared up when we drove thru Marietta. Will work on my phone calls to TSC, the Post, Gazette and looking for venue for fashion show in the fall. Hope all of you are doing well and look forward to seeing you this month at our meeting. My phone is always open for phone calls.
