April 26, 2015 Mission Statement St. Aloysius Parish embraces and nurtures all, inspiring each to act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly in the love of 4th God. Sunday of Easter
From Fr. Burns Dear Parishioners: After a week of no sunshine and mostly clouds and rain, it was great to wake up this past Sunday morning to see the sun shine on First Communion Sunday at St. Aloysius. Several children received First Communion at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, and at the 9:00 and Masses on Sunday. Most of the St. Aloysius second grade parishioners received First Communion at a 2:00 p.m. Mass. In the responsorial song for masses that day, we sang, "Lord, let your face shine on us." From the glow on the faces of all who attended First Eucharist, it was evident that this is exactly what was happening in the First Communion event. Congratulations, especially to all the children and their parents and to all the members of their families who attended. Thanks to all who helped to make this a wonderful celebration. Later that same day, Mr. McDougal Womack met with next school year's confirmation candidates and their parents to begin preparation for confirmation which will be celebrated in the fall. I am sure you will be hearing more about this in the near future This week Fr. Randy Cuevas will be coming to St. Aloysius to meet with some of the staff in introductory sessions, including yours truly. Between now and June 30, Fr. Randy will meet privately with all staff members as he begins to learn about our parish life. Bids for the new St. Aloysius Child Care Center will be received in the next few weeks. The groundbreaking for the new Child Care Center will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Renovation of the current Parish Administration Building is almost compete. One side of the building has been re-configured to house children in our Child Care Center who are currently housed in the old rectory. That building is slated to be demolished as soon as bids are received and accepted to make way for the new Child Care Center. Finally, it is hard to believe that in less than two weeks, I will have been back at St. Aloysius for four months and that the end of the school year is fast approaching.
