Projected Waukesha County annual job demand by program. Projections are organized and color coded by Career Cluster and Pathway (see Key). Unduplicated Pathway Total Jobs, Average LQ and Average N Programs/CIP are also reported for each pathway. These provide unduplicated estimates of total demand in industries when counts are duplicated because multiple programs prepare graduates for the same occupations. Key Projected Job Demand 2012 20 by Program 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 1. Career Cluster The WTCS assigns all programs to a career cluster and a pathway within that cluster when they are approved. 2. Pathway These clusters and pathways may not correspond to career pathways defined by WCTC and do not include local certificates. 3. Program # & 4. Program Name All current state approved programs at WCTC will appear somewhere in the listing. 5. SOC(2010) All programs will be matched with one or more Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes. These represent occupations 6. that students can obtain upon completion of the program. The SOC codes are drawn from the statewide CIP SOC crosswalk that is used for Performance Based Funding; however, since those matches are at the CIP and not program level, occasional edits have been made to better reflect the nature of WCTC's programs. If multiple SOC codes are associated with a program, Total Jobs, Average LQ and Average N Programs/CIP is also provide for the program. 7. Average number of combined new and replacement jobs in the SOC, in Waukesha County, per year, for the period 2012 2020. Based on DWD projections, but adjusted using Economic Modeling Specialists' (EMSI) algorithms to better capture local trends. 8. Location Quotient The ratio of the number of jobs in this SOC in Waukesha County to jobs in the SOC nationally. An indicator of the relative (LQ) importance of an industry to the local economy; an LQ over 1.00 means that relatively more jobs exist in this SOC in the local economy; an LQ of less than 1.00 means that this industry is relatively less important than it is nationally. 9. Number of progs Just a program can prepare workers for multiple occupations, multiple WCTC programs sometimes prepare students for the training same jobs. This count of total programs preparing students for the same occuation gives an indication of how much duplication there is in a program's job projections. LQ N Progs
