Has the Project Development Objective been changed since Board Approval of the Project? Yes Component(s) Component Name No Component Cost A: Prevention 3.10 B: Assistance 4.30 C: Capacity building, coordination and project management 2.60 Overall Ratings Previous Rating Current Rating Progress towards achievement of PDO Moderately Unsatisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Overall Implementation Progress (IP) Moderately Unsatisfactory Moderately Satisfactory Overall Risk Rating Implementation Status Overview Contracts with all the main implementing partners (NGOs) for Component A and B have been signed (the majority in August 2012) and activities directly benefiting children have started. Disbursement has accelerated and stands at 22%. In line with recommendations from the previous implementation support mission, the PIU has been restructured --the Project Coordinator and the Coordinator for assistance activities (Component B) have both left. The M&E Specialist is doing a competent job as interim Project Coordinator, while the Ministry of Social Affairs has seconded one of its directors to replace the Coordinator for assistance activities. Communication between the PIU and various stakeholders, including the Bank, has become more fluid. Results concerning prevention include: 29 neighborhood Child Protection Committees have been trained and supported; 848 children at risk have been enrolled in primary school free of charge, 19 radio programs have been broadcasted and 40 street theater performances have taken place. Results concerning assistance Page 1 of 6
