Betmar Coffee Hour for November 13, 2018 Submitted by Rita Jones All the Veterans in all branches of the service were honored today at the Betmar Coffee Hour. The program began with a solemn film and song about our men and women in service that touched the hearts of many attending. Coffee and doughnuts were provided to all Veterans paid for by the Activities Department. The table was set up in front of the stage in honor of all those military men and women that did not return home. The film served as the invocation and Judi Gearsbeck led residents in the pledge to the American flag.
Our Betmar twins, Joyce Eggleston and Joann Bennet (pictured below) brought in a picture of themselves when serving in the Navy. Joann served four years and her sister, Joyce, served four years of active service and 20 years in the reserve. They were both x-ray technicians in the Navy Hospital Core.
There were some that showed up in full dress uniform. Pictured below is Teresa Kuzmenko.
