About SATRC Established in 1997 in cooperation between APT and ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific Discuss and coordinate all the issues relating to regulations in telecommunications and ICT which are of common interest to the telecommunication regulators of South Asian countries SATRC activities are conducted by involvement of the highest level representations by the regulatory bodies of the South Asian countries 2

SATRC Members consists of regulatory bodies of nine (9) South Asian countries: Afghanistan: Afghanistan Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (ATRA) Bangladesh: Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Bhutan: Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority (BICMA) India: Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Islamic Republic of Iran: Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) Maldives: Communications Authority of Maldives (CAM) Nepal: Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) Pakistan: Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) Sri Lanka: Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) 3

Conclusion SATRC is a unique sub regional programme in APT Members are providing extra budgetary contributions voluntarily for the implementation of the activities of SATRC Implementation of SATRC Action Plan Phase VI will be completed by December 2018 SATRC would also like to encourage mutual cooperation with other regional associations of telecommunication regulators 12
