Info about NYC 2019 story of nyc: Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC) is a vibrant, life-changing youth event held every four years in different locations across the United States and Canada. High School students from all around North America belonging to the Church of the Nazarene gather together in a time of worship, teaching, and community outreach, united by a common belief in Jesus Christ. about nyc: A 4-day youth conference for high school students. Ministry With Others service projects and community outreach have impact throughout the host city. Featured speakers and creative artists from across the globe. Amazing worship services led by world class worship team. Live concerts featuring today s most popular Christian recording artists. Daily teachings that inspire, challenge and unite our students. Access to resources students can take home with them after the event. Multi-sensory experiences designed for group discipleship and creative learning. Recreation Hall with tons of individual and group activities, games, and exhibits.

nyc 2019 theme: Love God. Love Others. Simple, but challenging. Sometimes described as two pillars of following Jesus, we will explore the connective nature of our relationship with God and others while learning what it means to live out His love in our world. Matthew 22:37-40: Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Excursions We will join the with Central Field (ONU) for a fun day in the sun at Wet n Wild before the conference starts. We are excited to provide an opportunity for the students and adults to come see and explore one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Come and explore with us at the Grand Canyon National Park. *ALL Excursions are included in the cost.

NYC Q&A 2019 When is NYC? The dates for the conference portion of NYC are July 10-14, 2019. With travel days and excursion we are looking to tentatively be gone July 9-16, 2019. How will we get there? We will be flying to and from Phoenix together as a district. Who can go? To register send your a student and parent email along with a $150 deposit for each person wishing to register. Then, an email invitation for registration will be sent out to the parent s email. What is the cost? We are currently estimating the cost to be $1500. This amount is subject to change, as we get closer to the date we will be able to get a more accurate price on flights and will keep you as informed as possible. Check out the fundraising guide for info on how to raise funds for your trips and the different this as a Youth Group we will have available to you.

Fundraising plan for NYC19 Summer/Fall Plan *Sorrentos - Invite people to eat at Sorrentos in Flushing on the following nights and we will receive 10% of the profit if they mention Flushing Community Church Youth Group. July 23rd, August 20th, September 17th and October 22nd *Adopt-a-box - This is designed to target people outside of our church. People will pick a number from the grid and that is how much they agree to pay. *Support Letters - A support letter has been written for your student to send to people for prayers and monetary donation. *Change Challenge - Families from our church will take a Mason Jar home with them and fill it up with their spare change from the day. They can bring in their money when the jar is full and keep filling it up until our deadline. *Can/Bottle Drives - Students will collect cans/bottles in designated neighborhoods. (only students who participate will receive the money in their account) August 18th and September 8th are the first two drives Church families will be asked to bring their cans/bottles in on August 19th *Yard Sale - We are inviting the community to participate by purchasing a parking space to sell their goods/garage sale items in our lot. We will also sell concession items at the sale. *Envelope Giving - Our congregation will be asked to grab an envelope and place money into the envelope with the amount that is printed on the front($1-$200) If all envelopes are taken and returned with the designated amount, we will have raised $20,000. *Fundraising Websites - Flipgive - This is a shop and raise website that earns cash every time you shop online. Our students will earn cash when shop online for equipment, restaurant gift cards, travel, clothing and more. They can ask others to join our team and earn money as well. Winter Plan *Spaghetti Dinner - This will be after church on a Sunday morning. But we ve also talked about opening one up on the weekend for the community. *Pancake Breakfast - We are looking at doing this before church in the café. Also, talked about another time doing it for the community to be invited on a Saturday morning. *Auction - This would be an event that students can offer to babysit, shovel snow, do projects around the house, or something else that they feel that they could offer to help do. People from the church can donate services or products to auction off. This would look something like a silent auction. We ve talked about combining it with one of the dinner/breakfast events as well.

*March Madness Bracket/Superbowl squares - Students will sell squares and fill brackets and money will go. We ve talked about winner getting a monetary prize for winning as well. *Dodgeball Tournament - Teams will pay money to be a part of this tournament which will be held at the church. *Parent s Night Out - This would be an event where our students would babysit kids at the church for a donation, while the parents go out for the evening. Spring Plans *Bake Sale - Every spring, the church has a dessert auction and funds go to church camp. Students who are going to NYC, could receive money towards the trip instead. *Donut Sales - Donuts can be purchased in the café for $1. *Flamingo Prank/Protection - People can pay money for a flock of flamingos to fill the yards of friends. The idea is that each yard that is flamingoed will pay money for another yard to get it. People can also purchase flamingo insurance to keep their yard from getting flamingoed. *Family Movie Night - Though we can t charge to see a movie, we can accept donations. We will also have concessions available for purchase. Additional plans based on our need *Can/bottle drives *Car Washes *Business Sponsorships *Drive a car from a dealership and get money donated to NYC *Biggby coffee *Sell Oranges at Christmas time *Coin Challenge - Have another round of people filling their mason jars. We have organized a fundraising team and are working diligently to try and cover as much or all of the money needed for this amazing event.
