Middle Paxton School Association Scholarship The Middle Paxton School Association (MPSA) scholarship is to be awarded annually to a graduate from a senior high school within the Central Dauphin School District who is entering his/her freshman year of post-secondary education. The award will be $1,000 which will be paid directly to the institution. Condition of Eligibility Each applicant must be a candidate for graduation from a senior high school within the Central Dauphin School District. Each Applicant must have completed three (3) or more grades at Middle Paxton Elementary School. Eligibility or selection shall in no way be affected by race, religion, or gender. Financial need will not be a consideration for selection. Criteria for Selection The MPSA scholarship will be awarded on the basis of: High school academic standing. School citizenship (activities with in the school). Community service/volunteerism (activities outside of school). Employment history. An essay (not more that 250 words) explaining educational goals and objectives. Selection Procedure Students may secure an application from his/her high school counselor. Once the student has completed their portion of the application it will be returned to the counselor for completion and forwarded to the Selection Committee. The deadline for applying is April 1st of his/her senior year. The scholarship recipient will be selected by the Scholarship Committee consisting of six (6) people. Three (3) teachers from Middle Paxton Elementary School, Three (3) members from the MPSA, including at least one (1) person from the Executive Board. The principal of Middle Paxton Elementary School shall serve with the committee to provide guidance and continuity. The Scholarship will be presented at both the senior awards ceremony at the recipients high school and the Middle Paxton Elementary School Awards Program. 2

If there is anything that you feel is important to you application that is not covered in the following questions please attach a separate sheet providing any additional comments or information that you feel is appropriate.
