Sc Nursing: The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council. The minimum educational requirement shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks. The candidate should have undergone B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognised by Indian Nursing Council. Minimum one year of work experience after B.Sc. Nursing. Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing. Intake: 60 Candidates B.Sc NURSING Programme Duration : 4 Years Commencement of Course : September This Programme is aimed to develop competent and professional nursing practitioners who are pro-active and responsible both in clinical and teaching set up. Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Nursing: The minimum education requirement is higher Secondary (10+2)/Pre-University or equivalent examinations, with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English, obtaining 45% or more marks in the aggregate of these subjects. Passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually and must have obtained a minimum of not less than 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) taken together in the qualifying examination. Candidate should have completed 17 Years on or before 31st day of December of the year of admission. The admission will be on the basis of merit ranking of the students in entrance test and counselling. Candidate shall be medically fit. Be a registered nurse. Have passed Pre-University Examination in Arts / Science / Commerce conducted by Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State or its equivalent recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Have working knowledge of English. Be medically fit. Have good personal and professional record. Vacant seats can be filled with Arts & Commerce PUC/PDC/10+2 with 40% Aggregate marks. Students shall be medically fit. Admission of students will be once in an academic year. Faculty The faculty of PCION is committed in developing, promoting and imparting education to enhance the student s knowledge, attitude and skills to provide effective and efficient nursing care. They constantly strive to improve educational standards to make PCION, a center of excellence, in nursing education. Permanent faculty apart, the students will also be taught through Seminars, Workshops, and Guest Lectures etc. by eminent visiting faculty including famous Doctors and guest speakers regularly. Student Nurses association (SNA) has been established for student s welfare and timely activities are organized under faculty supervision. Classrooms & Conference Hall Infrastructure Classrooms & Conference Hall All classrooms are designed according to the recommendations of the apex bodies well - equipped, ventilated with provision for Lecture cum Demonstration facilities. The College possesses a good number of audio-visual aids. A good collection of video tapes, C.D. and audio cassettes on different subjects are available for the students' education. In addition, the college students also have access to the Computer Lab and latest software. Encompassing spacious Indoor and Outdoor Auditoriums to conduct various cultural Activities, Seminars, graduation ceremony and other important events. The classroom activities are monitored through CCTV. Library & Computer Lab Library consists of well stocked books of professional & Nonprofessional Books, Medical Journals, Indian & International Journals, Periodicals, Newspapers in English & Regional languages. The library is constantly updated with a new edition of books with large collection of audio & videos presentations are made freely available to the students to cultivate the habit of reference reading in them. The library provides computer based learning through provision of CD's. Students and Faculties can access over 1000 specialized professional e-journals (National and International). Modern computer lab with centrally air-conditioned is available for basic computer education and training to all the students. Internet & Helinet with high speed will be available during college hours. Students will be well trained by one of the Prominent Professor's in Bengaluru. The library will be kept open from 9.00 Am - 10.00 Pm.
Laboratories Laboratories are well equipped and furnished as hospital wards for nursing practice. Each has ward beds, equipment and a computerized audio-visual system to facilitate teaching, demonstration and returndemonstration. Hostel Accomodation Our education trust has established separate hostel for girls & boys with qualified warden in the same campus for girls with at most security measures. Hostel rooms are well ventilated, telephone facilities are provided with 24 hours of water supply is also provided. Hostel food of both vegetarians & non vegetarians is served to the students as per their preference to North Indian (Bengali & others), South Indian & Seasonal Foods. UPS back-up, Wi-Fi facility for Internet access, TV halls / Indoor Auditorium, 24/7 Doctor on call READING AND RECREATION Magazines of general reading such as India-Today, Wisdom, Health Guide, Nutrition and Health Care, etc., and newspapers such as Deccan Herald, Indian Express, Times of India, Vjaya Karnataka are purchased from the SNA Fund. The student on rotations will be in-charge of the reading room which is kept open from 4.00 P.m. to 8.00 P.m. every day. Current magazines will be issued for circulation among the students. The institute provides spacious sports room which includes table tennis, carom boards, chessboard and many other indoor games. There is also an outdoor game facility for throw ball and tennis. Etc...
