It is available for 1 to 4 players to play each other or by oneself. This interactive game table offers 12 different games. Library Book Sale 9:30 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Thursday The library s permanent book sale will be open. It is located in the lower level of the library in the previous Michworks room. Hours will be Monday through Thursday 9:30 am - 2:30 pm. each week. The book sale will have a wide variety of materials such as: audios, DVDs, VHS and books. They are organized by fiction and non fiction, of adult, teen or children s reading level. Genre s are large print, romance, mystery, science fiction, DVD, VHS, and music. This will help for browsing to find specific books more quickly. Paperback Books -.50 each Hardcover Books, Audio, DVDs, VHS - $1 each More valuable items - prices will vary Donations of new and used materials are welcome to be donated. Library App The Library designed an app for mobile phone users to search their library account, renew materials, put books on hold, contact the library, see events and research databases at anytime, anywhere. Video Games It s time to get your game on! The library has video games available for check-out! Platforms currently include PS2, PS3, PS4, Wii, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Free check out for one week. Renewals are available if title is not on hold. If returned late, a $1 per day, per game fee is charged. The library accepts new or used video games as donations to add to the collection. Ask for a receipt of donation for a federal write off.. Direct Your Dollars Jordan Valley District Library has the opportunity to earn $1,000 from SpartanNash, simply by patrons shopping at any Family Fare Supermarket. Through the Direct Your Dollars program, the library can turn eligible receipts into cash. It s easy to help us Direct Your Dollars. every time you shop at any Family Fare Supermarket, save your entire original receipt. You may black out the portion that contains your name and last four digits of your credit card. You can drop the receipts at the circulation desk in the container marked Direct Your Dollars. When $150,000 in receipts is collected, the library will earn $1,000 donation from SpartanNash. If you aren t able to drop your receipts off in person, you can also mail them to JVDL, PO Box 877, East Jordan, MI 49727. The original entire receipt is needed to earn the $1,000 donation, so please no photocopies. Thanks to the Direct Your Dollars program, the library can raise money in turn to purchase materials for the library. Community Play Group and Parent Education Women s Resource Center s Play Group is held every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30a.m. in the library s community room on a walk-in basis. It is available for children from birth to five years old. This is a free service in which Kate Essenberg promotes activities such as story time, crafts, games and music for children. This gives parents and caregivers an opportunity to network with other parents and learn of early literacy resources that are available. Teen Program The teen after school program is from 3-5 p.m. in the library s community room. The program is Monday through Thursday each week for grades 6-12 that school is in session. Teen Assistants Kallie Haney and Kaya Lowe oversee the teen after school program. The Teen calendar is now available at Jordan Valley District Library Facebook page and on the library website under teens. The library is a governmental entity with a tax-exempt 501c3 organization status. Donations are deductible from your federal income tax as the library is a qualified organization. MEMORIAL FUND This fund established in the beneficiaries names that will allow the library to have a revolving savings. ENDOWMENT FUND This is an endowment fund through the Charlevoix County Community Foundation to allow the library use of interest earned from this investment fund.
