Dear Senior Band Scholarship Applicant: Kingwood Band Boosters will again be awarding scholarships for those graduating seniors who submit an application and meet all the stated requirements. We encourage and welcome all KM4B seniors to apply for a scholarship. There are four parts to the scholarship process: the Leadership Activities and Service and the Musical Achievements point sheet, the directors ranking, and your interview with the scholarship committee. The point sheet for your chosen scholarship area will count for 50% of your total score with the directors ranking and interview counting for approximately 25% each. Enclosed you will find the necessary forms to apply for a Band Booster Club Scholarship: Applicant Information Form Musical Achievement Point Sheet Leadership and Service Activities Point Sheet Additional Activities Form Be sure to follow ALL instructions carefully. Complete ALL forms, including both point sheets. The information from both point sheets is used in determining your scholarship score. The point sheet from your designated primary scholarship area counts as 50% of your total score, while the point sheet for the other area is incorporated into your interview score. For this reason, it is important to select which scholarship area you feel you are strongest in. Family membership in the Kingwood Band Booster Club is a requirement for scholarship eligibility. Applications are available on the KM4B website and the application and annual dues ($25) must be received by March 31. No application will be considered without the proper verifications from the band director and the counselor/registrar. Be sure to check your application for signatures, including your own signature, prior to turning it in. A paper copy of your completed application with your picture and personal statement attached are due to Mrs. Zoet-King s office by 3:15 pm on Tuesday, April 6th, 2010. No applications will be accepted after this time! Interviews will be held on April 12 th, 13 th and 14 th. The interview sign-up sheet will be posted in the Band Hall the week prior to the interviews. If you are unable to attend on the dates posted, other arrangements can be made by contacting the Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee. All applicants will be notified of their results prior to the KHS Spring Band Concert. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the Spring Band Concert in May. Thank-you for your application, and Good Luck! Rhonda Evans Scholarship Committee Chairperson 281-360-9858
