Effective July 1, 2013, NIA Magellan began managing nonemergent outpatient imaging/radiology services for Coventry Health Care of West Virginia s membership through Coventry Health Care of West Virginia s contractual relationships. This will include Coventry Health of West Virginia commercial and Medicaid members. The following imaging procedures require prior authorization through NIA Magellan: CT/CTA CCTA MRI/MRA PET Cardiac Catheterization Nuclear Cardiology/Nuclear Stress/MPI Stress Echo Emergency room, observation and inpatient imaging procedures do not require prior authorization from NIA Magellan. Ordering providers must obtain prior-authorization of these procedures prior to the service being performed at an imaging facility.
