Was responsible for oversight of the clinical component of a 72 bed residential program and an outpatient addiction treatment program that services both male and female clients. The program focuses on evidence based strategies such as providing feedback, reflective listening, motivational interviewing, stages of change and brief interventions. Pathways to Change- a comprehensive substance abuse treatment program designed to raise awareness of the link between substance use and life problems, particularly crime, in order to develop motivation for change, and provide offenders cognitive and behavioral skills to allow them to live a drug abuse free lifestyle. Group Facilitation A training developed to increase staffs ability to effectively facilitate groups, whether a treatment core curriculum, life skills sessions, maintenance groups, or other treatment groups. Family Violence Awareness- an educational training designed to increase staff s awareness in the area of Family Violence and introduce skills to help increase their ability to work effectively in this area. LSI-R (Level of Service Inventory) A standardized risk/need biopsychosocial assessment that provides a close look at personal, situational and contextual factors linked to criminal behavior and recidivism. Howard 5 ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Co-facilitated Inter-professional Education groups to help guide students from law, medicine, nursing and social work to focus on a collaborative approach to patient care, with emphasis on team interaction and communication. Assisted in developing a Self-Care workshop in partnership with Camden School of Nursing and Psychological Services at Rutgers University for students across helping professions.
