A L L S A I N T S C AT H O L I C S C H O O L SCHOOL NEWSLETTER September 21, 2016 Principal Postings... For those of you who are new to our school community, I hope the transition is going well and you are experiencing a sense of Joy and peace in your decision to join the ASCS family. I have received some feedback the how wonderful things are going for the children and feedback on some procedural practices that need improvement or at least better communication as to how things work around here. I appreciate hearing from you, both the good things happening as well as input as to how we can improve. Every once in a while I take time to do a posting I title Did you know. In it I highlight some things that have occurred or will occur in the near future. This is one of those posts! Did you know Our enrollment is up 10 students for a total of 638 from the previous school year during a time when schools are reporting a declining enrollment? We have 15 more students enrolled in grades K4-1 st than we did last year? We celebrate Mass with the children once weekly and the children take part in the various ministries? Our teachers are posting Learning Targets in every classroom to help the children be mindful of what they are learning and in some classes the students are even assessing their own learning on a 4,3,2, 1 scale? Our 5 th graders have been invited to the Milwaukee Italian Community Center to study Italian culture, play Bocce ball, make pasta, learn about immigration and even have a language lesson all free of charge? Our Middle School Musical is You re a Good Man Charlie Brown? The students in grades 1-5 study an Engineering Unit called Engineering is Elementary each school year? All of our K4 and K5 teachers have been certified in Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards? Our Saints In Training Program has over 60 students enrolled? Our Cardinal Club provides before and after school care and homework help too? Our Volleyball season is off to a great start with multiple teams at each grade level? Our 4th/5th graders won the softball championship? November 1 st we will gather ALL of the students at the South Campus (dropoff will be there) for the Solemnity of All Saints? October 13 th and 14 th is a Fall Break for students as the teachers will be attending the Teachers Convention? There is a Middle School Social this Friday? South Campus has many volunteers for lunch and recess yet North and West are still in need volunteers so our teachers can have time to eat their own lunch? Our children, teachers, staff and families Rock? The principal of ASCS is grateful to be serving this awesome community? Blessings, Dr. Jackie Lichter Together we will teach children to see the world through the eyes of Christ and to model the lives of the Saints in a rigorous academic environment.

For the past 27 years, Dick has taught or has been an administrator in our Kenosha schools. He has worked with teenagers from all walks of life.
