Please have everything set out on your boulevard by 5:30 AM. Stickers will need to be purchased from the City Office for all appliances, computer monitors, and televisions intended to be picked up. Rates are as follows: $20.00 All Appliances $20.00 Computer Monitors and TVs Items that will NOT be picked up include: Tires Hazardous Waste Fuel Gasoline Used Oil Sheetrock Paint Cans with Paint in them Leaves and Branches Large Quantities of Lumber Computer Monitors and TVs WITHOUT a sticker 2017 Pet Clinic May 11, 2017, 5 7 pm: Hendrum Civic Center Dr. Randall Lindemann of Frazee, MN, will be at the Civic Center to administer rabies shots, and distemper shots for cats and dogs. The vet will also have medications/vaccinations for lyme disease and leukemia. Flea & tick and heartworm preventatives will also be available. All pet licenses will need to be purchased or renewed for 2017. Both cats and dogs are required to be licensed. Licenses will be valid through May 31, 2018. INSIDE THIS ISSUE Clean-Up Day 1 2017 Pet Clinic 1 Adopt-a-Pot Program 2 Tree Planting Program 2 Yard of the Month 3 Celebrate 10 Years with the Library! 3 Automatic Payment Enrollment Option 5 RECYCLING DUMPSTERS: The recycling dumpsters are located on the south side of the Hendrum Civic Center/Fire Hall along the alley and the west side of town near the corner of Quincy and the North side of Main Street. The glass, plastic, tin cans and newspapers do not need to be separated. BRANCH & LEAF PICK-UP: Open burning is not allowed in the city. Branches and leaves will be picked up the 2 nd and 4 th Thursday of each month (May through September) and each Thursday during the month of October, weather permitting. All branches MUST BE CUT SMALL enough for one person to handle. Leaves and grass clippings need to be bagged and placed on the boulevard for pick-up along with the branches. Branches and bags of leaves will not be picked up if they are too large, heavy or difficult to handle. The City of Hendrum licensing fees are as follows: Spayed or neutered pets is $4 Intact is $5 If you prefer to take your pet somewhere else, please remember that the City requires proof of vaccination for rabies and proof that the animal has been spayed or neutered.

Page 2 Adopt-a-Pot Program The City of Hendrum Economic Development Authority is encouraging community members and merchants to Adopt-a-Pot of flowers for the summer. Your $50 sponsorship will fill a barrel pot with beautiful flowers to display along Main Street in Hendrum for the summer. Your choice of your name, company name or organization name will be displayed in your pot and on the City of Hendrum website. Make checks payable to: City of Hendrum EDA PO Box 100 Hendrum, MN 56550 TREE PLANTING PROGRAM The City of Hendrum has proclaimed May as Beautification Month and in support is continuing the Hendrum Tree Planting Program. The City of Hendrum is encouraging citizens to plant trees from now until June 30 th. Purchase up to two trees from a supplier of your choice and the City will reimburse residents for ½ of the purchase price of the trees or up to $20.00 per tree. The City has allocated funds for this program and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Interested residents must plant trees within the City of Hendrum. What you need to do to participate: Purchase your trees between by June 30, 2017, and bring your receipt to the Hendrum City Clerk s Office to qualify for a reimbursement check. Again, there are limited dollars and this offer is on a first come, first serve basis. When the money runs out, so does the offer. All receipts must be turned in by July 15, 2017, to qualify for reimbursement. Please make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to get new trees planted in our community!

Page 3 Yard of the Month The Hendrum Economic Development Authority will be sponsoring a Yard of the Month contest for the months May, June, July, and August. The purpose of the program is to recognize neighbors who demonstrate above-average efforts in maintaining their property, thereby contributing to the overall appearance of the community at large. A committee will select one residential yard during the first few days of each month. The winner of the Yard of the Month will be provided with a decorative yard sign for display indicating their winning yard, as well as a posting and photo on the City of Hendrum website and Facebook page. Each Yard of the Month winner will also receive a $25 Bergeson Nursery gift certificate. Celebrate 10 Years! The Hendrum Library LINK Site is turning 10! In celebration of 10 years serving the community, the LINK Site is hosting an Open House on Saturday, April 29 th from 9:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Stop by the LINK Site and enjoy refreshments, Storytime, a visit from the library s mascot, Booker, and prize drawings. All are welcome to join the fun! The LINK Site is located in the Hendrum Professional Building at 308 Main St. E.

Page 4 Junked OR Abandoned Vehicles If any resident has a junked and/or abandoned vehicle or any other vehicle that you wish to dispose of, please contact Mike Smart to make arrangements to have the vehicle towed at no expense to the owner or consider donating to a charity. Vehicles For Veterans You can help disabled veterans by donating a car, truck, boat, RV, ATV, or motorcycle to Vehicles For Veterans, whether the vehicle runs or not. Your vehicle donation helps them support disabled and other veterans' programs that provide strength and encouragement to the American veterans who have served our country. Vehicles For Veterans will go almost anywhere to pick up your car for free, regardless of its condition! We tow away cars, boats, RVs, ATVs, trucks, motorcycles and trailers.. Find out more at www.vehiclesforveterans.org! Wheels for Wishes & Wellness Wheels For Wishes & Wellness is Car Donation Foundation's car donation program. If you have a car to donate, your generosity can help bring joy back to children's lives. You can donate cars, trucks, motorcycles, SUVs, RVs, and even boats. No matter where you live, you can donate a car to benefit local children. The vehicles they receive are either auctioned to new owners or recycled, and the proceeds from their sale benefit local children's charities in Minnesota. Automatic Payment Enrollment You can pay your monthly city utilities bill from your checking or savings account - no checks to write, stamps to buy or late payments to worry about! To sign up, simply complete and return the enclosed authorization form. You must include a voided check (for checking accounts) or deposit slip (for savings accounts). It can take up to a month to set up your direct automatic payment. Until you see the wording Auto Pay on your utility statement, please continue to pay your bill as usual. the message Auto Pay. Funds will be charged or transferred on the first working day on or after the 15 th of the month. There is a one dollar ($1.00) monthly service fee per account to utilize this service. If at any time there is a change in your bank account information, you will need to notify the City Clerk and fill out a new auto-pay authorization form.
