ADAPTATION OF THE BRS REPORTING TEMPLATE AS PART OF THE COLLECTION OF INFORMATION UNDER DECISION MC-1/21 Information on the work of Regional Centres in delivering capacity-building and technical assistance to support parties in implementing their obligations under the Minamata Convention was requested, inter alia, by the Conference of the Parties to the Minamata Convention in its First meeting in 2017 through decision MC-1/21. The Minamata Convention Secretariat has adapted the template for reporting requirements and the performance evaluation of regional centres under the Basel and Stockholm Conventions. This adapted template is being circulated to Regional Centres as part of the collection of information under such decision. Regional Centres are requested to kindly update this template by Tuesday, 13 November 2018 for the reporting period between 01/01/2017 and 31/12/2018. Should the Regional Centre wish to include activities from 2016 or earlier, this should be clearly indicated in the submission. Ministry of Science and Technology, China 2... 115,000 Develop the environmentally sound treatment and disposal technology for typical e- waste, including waste phones and office equipment and possible mercury containing components, and solve the problems related to new types of e-waste and their dismantled materials. Main contents include: (1) Research on environmentally sound treatment technology for typical e-waste Study on the integration and harmless dismantling technology for waste phones and office equipment, and carry out the subsequent treatment and disposal for dismantled materials using the mobile e-waste treatment equipment. (2) Evaluation on the recycling technology for key dismantled materials Aiming at the key dismantled materials, including printed circuit boards, lithium ion battery and drum/ink cartridges, evaluate the environmentally sound treatment recycling technology. (3) Analysis on the cost benefits and environmental efficiency on mobile treatment equipment Based on situation of equipment operation, make the evaluation on the cost benefits and environmental efficiency during the whole stage of treatment equipment processing operation. Ministry of Science and Technology, China 2.... 2,622,100 This project aimed to accomplish the research of pretreatment technology and equipment of dismantling residues including possible mercury containing components which are difficult to deal with, and the secondary pollution control technology in the e-waste utilization processing, and build a certain scale of production line for technical demonstration to provide technical support for the e-waste resource utilization and pollution control for China and Macao region. Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), Switzerland 2.... 116,200 To compile, analyse and summarize reporting-related decisions of all relevant INCs (for Minamata) and COPs (for Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm). Using the compendium, commonalities among and compatibilities between reporting requirements for all four conventions will be identified, resulting in draft guidance that can recommend elements of a synergistic reporting regime to participating countries. To hold national workshops to undertake guidance-based training and collect detailed feedback on the draft guidance from 3 participating countries. Based on this feedback, develop revised guidance for general distribution, use and possible adoption by the conferences of the parties of the four Conventions. To develop draft recommendations on synergies for reporting among the four conventions to be introduced through the Asia- Pacific Group.
