April 30, 2018 ST. MARY'S ALUMNI IN THE NEWS Congratulations to Bill Schlueter, Class of 1965! The Silver Beaver Award, the highest national Scouting award that an adult volunteer may receive from a Boy Scout Council has been presented to Bill Schlueter. Bill has been active in scouting for thirty six years, six as a youth in St.

Louis where he earned his Eagle Scout rank, and thirty as an adult in Nashville, Tennessee. As an adult leader, Bill has been Den Leader, Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster, Eagle Scout Project Coordinator, High Adventure Program Coordinator, Middle Tennessee Council's lead adviser to Philmont Scout Ranch, Lead Adviser to Florida National High Adventure Sea Base, and in 2019 will be Middle Tennessee Council's contingent Scoutmaster to the World Jamboree of Scouting at the Summit High Adventure Camp in West Virginia. After graduating from St. Mary's High School, Bill attended college at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas and Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Bill served in the US Army from 1968-1971 as a Quartermaster Instructor at Ft. Lee, Virginia. He is a member of the National Association of REALTORS, American Federation of Musicians, the American Legion, and the National Eagle Scout Association. Bill has been married to Joan for forty five years; they have two children and six grand children. Bill attends St. Henry Church in Nashville. Congratulations Bill and thank you for your dedication to the scouting program! Schiefelbein Class of 1991 November 30, 1972 - December 30, 2017 Born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 30, 1972. He attended schools in St. Louis and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1991. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1995. After graduation he worked at Raytheon Corporation in Denver, Colorado. In 2001, Tim joined the technical staff of MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, Massachusetts. At the time of his death he had risen to Senior Technical Staff. His

contributions to many Department of Defense initiatives were commended by leaders and peers alike. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, camping, biking, and kayaking. He shared his profound love of the outdoors with his family and friends throughout his life. He was loved because of his kindness, honesty, commitment to relevance, and his humor.
