BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION Participants will form teams. Each team will come up with an idea and develop that idea into a viable plan with the guidance of their mentors. Practical Experience Here s where it really heats up All teams present their business plan to a panel of judges who represent Venture Capital, Angel and Entrepreneurial investors. Awards The top two winning teams are awarded $2,500 and $1,000 respectively during award ceremony. Competition The top two winning teams from the chapter will qualify to compete in the TYE Global Competition at UCI in June, 2017 for the top prize of $10,000. TYE PROGRAM VISION Empower our youth to become entrepreneurs by engaging them through quality educational programs that include instruction and mentoring designed to: Ø Develop business acumen and communication skills Ø Discover the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship Ø Nurture a well-rounded personality Ø Instill confidence to lead in a global environment TYE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS Ø Open to all high school students (grades 9-12) Ø Participants will be selected by a screening process, 50 students maximum Ø Program fee is $200, $100 refundable upon completion of the program (scholarships available based on need) TYE SCHEDULE 2016-2017 Ø Classes will be held at UCI s Applied Innovation/The Cove on selective Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm beginning November 12, 2016 until May 1, 2017.
