Friday, December 7, 2018 7:30am 3:30pm Time Warner Center 60 Columbus Circle 10th Floor, North Tower New York, NY 10019 Statement of Need: The management of malignancies continues to evolve, making it critical that providers be familiar with the most recent clinical and translational research in order to incorporate into their clinical practices. This course will provide participants with updates in the field of Oncology, and specifically Radiation Oncology that have occurred. This course will review for learners the most significant presentations made over the course of the year in scientific journals and national conferences with a focus on the following oncologic subsites: CNS, Gynecology, Head and Neck, Pediatrics, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Lymphoma, and Breast. Through lecture and panel discussion from disease site specialists this course will engage attendees in the review of important updates, new technologies and best practices in the fields of Radiation Oncology. Program Objectives: All CME activities are intended to improve patient care, safety and outcomes. At the conclusion of this conference participants should be able to: Review highlights and important abstracts from 2018 national meeting. Summarize current and evolving treatment options for various malignancies including central nervous system, breast and gynecologic, head and neck, thoracic, genitourinary, gastrointestinal and hematologic. Identify various on-going oncology and radiation oncology clinical trials that are available to cancer patients and hypothesize about the impact on patient care and outcomes. Develop a team based best practice paradigm to avoid inconsistencies and variations in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients. Incorporate best practice treatments of Radiation Oncology across all disciplines and settings. Credit Designation: designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. American Board of Radiology Credit: SAM Credit application in process with full qualification by the ABR expected before the SAM is taken. American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT): Category A/A+ CE credit is pending approval by the ASRT. American Dosimetrist Crediting Board (MDCB): Credit Pending Nursing Credit: The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) will accept 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit as equal to 1.0 ANCC contact hour. Nurses should inquire with their specialty organizations and professional institutions as to their acceptance of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
