Governance and Philanthropy: Random Digressions You can t catch an elephant with a mousetrap! The heart of philanthropy must come from the heart of the institution - Faculty! Can you share your primary philanthropy goal in a 30 second elevator speech? People and corporations will give to winning causes - not to the needy! Donors watch how you steward their first gift!
Governance and Philanthropy: Random Digressions Philanthropy is a process - research, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship! People respond to people! Heart first, head second! Money is attracted by strength! There must be a defined, well-articulated case for support! Be straightforward and forthright!
