Objective EURAXESS is a unique initiative, launched by the European Commission (European Union) to promote Research careers and facilitate the mobility of Researchers across Europe. 2 EURAXESS Services You can get advice on topics such as: Everyday queries Administrative queries Financial queries Legal queries e.g. Accommodation e.g. Health/ Medical care e.g. Taxation e.g. Visa formalities

4 EURAXESS Services Local Contact Points A total of 56 000 Researchers were assisted by the EURAXESS Services Centres in 2009, finding solutions for over 108 000 problems and questions. In 2009 EURAXESS had a total of 290 437 unique visitors on the website and a total of 3.4 million page views!!

6 German EURAXESS network AvH - National Coordination Point More than 50 EURAXESS National Service Centres at universities and other research institutions. Quality assurance: workshops offer training (f.ex. on scientific visa) and learning from each other (how to deal with local authorities, how to organise the daily work, etc.)

AvH activities AvH reinforces the quality of services for mobile researchers through Welcome Centre competition (2006, 2008, 2010) Award for Germany's Friendliest Immigration Office (2002, 2003, 2004) EURAXESS T.O.P. project (2010-11)

2 EURAXESS rights EURAXESS plays an important role in implementing the EU directives and recommendations related to Scientific visa The European Charter for Researchers (including topics like freedom of research, good practices, responsibilities, contractual and legal obligations) The Code of conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (including topics like fair equal treatment) Organisations and institutions having signed the code of conduct can be recognised by the Human Resources Excellence in Research logo on the website.

2 EURAXESS links EURAXESS Links is a networking tool for European Researchers working outside Europe. It exists in: USA Japan China India and Singapore In addition to organising events, EURAXESS Links provide information about Research in Europe, European Research policy, opportunities for Research funding, for international collaboration and for trans-national mobility. Membership is free. Stay in touch with Europeans and Europe even when you are abroad!
