THE 3905 CENTURY CLUB, INC. WAS AWARD APPLICATION CONSOLIDATED (EACH BAND/MODE SEPARATELY) (SOME ENDORSABLE) This is a consolidated application for use when applying for all versions of the Worked All States (WAS) certificate awards or endorsements. This award may be earned for each band/mode combination for which The 3905 Century Club, Inc. (Club) operates a net. DEFINITIONS: 2-LETTER CALL Any call sign with two or less letters in the suffix. GENERAL WAS This refers to a WAS award with no special conditions applied. SPECIALTY WAS This refers to a defined WAS award with special conditions such as WAS Caps, WAS YL, etc. WAS OPEN This refers to a WAS Certificate award issued for special conditions not specifically spelled out in the Bylaws or by the Awards Committee in this WAS Award application. All WAS Open Awards require working all 50 states. REQUIREMENTS: 1. All contacts must be made on Club nets and must be on the same band and mode unless specifically noted otherwise. 2. The applicant must hold a 100-Point Certificate for the band/mode for which any WAS application is submitted. 3. All QSL cards previously applied toward other awards may also be used toward all forms of the WAS Award. 4. The use of Wild Cards or Super Wild Cards is not permitted on any WAS award application. 5. The General WAS Certificate requires confirmed contacts with all 50 US states. 6. The specialty WAS awards require contacts as follows: The WAS 2-Letter Calls Certificate requires confirmed contacts with 2-Letter call sign suffixes in each of the 50 US states. The WAS Capitals Certificate requires confirmed contact with call signs in a minimum of 35 different US state capitals. You may send additional QSL cards for endorsements in groups of five (5) additional states until you reach fifty (50) states. All stations contacted must be physically within the city limits of the state capital and this must be indicated on the card either by address or notation, preferably the latter. The WAS Combos Certificate requires confirmed contacts with call signs operating as a valid combo in all 50 states. The WAS CW Certificate requires confirmed CW contacts with all 50 US states. The WAS Mobile Certificate requires confirmed contacts with mobile stations in all 50 US states. The WAS QRP Certificate requires confirmed contacts with QRP stations in all 50 US states. Applicants for the WAS QRP Certificate may certify on the application that all of the contacts were made at QRP power levels 10 watts or less. This shall be done by writing a clear signed statement on the back of the application very similar to the following, omitting or changing wording as necessary to suit the situation, All contacts submitted were made while (I was) (the stations I contacted were) (I and the stations I contacted were) running at QRP power levels. The WAS YL Certificate requires confirmed contacts with licensed YLs in a minimum of 35 different states. You may send additional cards for endorsements in groups of five (5) additional states until you reach fifty (50) states. The WAS in Order Certificate requires confirmed contacts with 50 states worked in the order in which the states were admitted to the Union. Both date and time matter. Enter the date worked in the date column on the application. All contacts toward this award must be made on or after March 1, 2012. 7. The WAS Open Award requires confirmed contacts with all 50 US states on a single band/mode with each of those contacts meeting meaningful & nontrivial requirements that you specify, subject to prior approval by the Awards Committee. Examples of special requirements already included in this application in the form of Specialty WAS Awards are WAS 2-Letter Calls, WAS Combos, WAS CW, WAS Mobile, WAS QRP, WAS in Order. You are very strongly advised to ask about the acceptability of any award conditions not specifically listed before investing a great deal of time making contacts since these awards will NOT be issued for trivial reasons, for reasons that circumvent existing requirements, or for reasons not consistent with the principles of The Club. You may earn this award multiple times for different special conditions. 8. The WAS Same Station Mobile Award consists of a certificate issued for confirmed contacts with the same mobile operator located in a minimum of 40 US states. Endorsements to this certificate are available for confirmed contacts with 48, 49 and 50 states. 9. The WAS All Nets (Intermediate) Award consists of a certificate issued for confirmed contacts with all 50 states as follows: Four (4) states on each of 20M CW, 20M PSK, 20M RTTY, 40M CW, 40M PSK, 40M RTTY, 80M CW, 80M PSK, 80M RTTY, 160M CW, 160M SSB; and three (3) states each on 40M SSB and 75M SSB, for a total of fifty (50) different states apportioned among the Club s thirteen (13) nets as specified. 10. The WAS All Nets (Expert) Award consists of a certificate issued upon demonstration by the applicant that the applicant holds a WAS certificate at the 50-state level from each of the thirteen (13) band- and mode-specific Club nets, a total of thirteen (13) certificates as a prerequisite. There is no fee for this award. When applying, list the thirteen (13) nets and the corresponding WAS certificate numbers held as neatly as possible in the available white space on the application below. 11. The Worked All States By Mode Award consists of a certificate issued for working all 50 states on each of the four (4) modes, any band or mixture of bands, for which the Club holds nets. This award requires a total of 200 cards. Fill out four application forms, one for each mode used. Only one award fee is required. 12.
