CSC Restorative Practices Project Poster Competition About the CSC Restorative Practices Project Poster Competition The CSC Restorative Practices Project is running a Poster Competition for children and young people in Limerick City. Restorative Practices help people get along with each other and when something happened that hurts or upsets us they can help us make things right. Who can enter the competition? You can enter the competition if you are a child or young person in primary or second level education or in a community group such as a youth club, after-schools club, or other type of club for children or young people. What should your poster be about? Your poster should reflect the themes of Respect Fairness Positive relationships Listening to each other You can also include ideas that reflect the theme of our restorative questions Everyone has a chance to tell his or her side of the story Everyone has a chance to hear other people s side of the story People get a chance to say what needs to be done to put things right What is the closing date for entries? The closing date for entries is the 16th December 2014 Winners will be announced in January 2015 What are the prizes? Category 1st Prize 2nd Prize 3rd Prize Primary Post Primary
What will happen to my poster? All 1st prizewinners entries will be reproduced into Restorative Question Poster, printed and given to schools and community groups. All 1st - 5th place entries will be reproduced and exhibited in schools and community organisations around the city
Preparing your entry Subject Your poster should reflect the themes of respect, fairness, community, positive relationships and listening to each other. You can also include ideas that reflect the themes of our restorative questions Everyone has a chance to tell his or her side of the story Everyone has a chance to hear other people s side of the story People get a chance to say what needs to be done to put things right Size of artwork Your entry should not be smaller than A4 (29.7cm x 21.0cm) or larger than A2 (59.4cm x 42.0cm) even if mounted. Framed entries will not be accepted. Use of Materials You may use any type of paper, white, coloured, rough or smooth. The work that you submit may be drawn or painted in pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, crayon, pastel, watercolour, gouache, acrylics, oils, poster colour and collage. Alternatively, it may be submitted in digital format in any artwork software. Prints created from a lino block, wood blocks or any other methods may also be submitted. Originality Your work should be original and unaided. Please do not copy another person s work. Any source imagery must be indicated at time of entry. Failure to properly reference any source imagery may result in disqualification. Number of Entries You may submit up to two entries per individual. Where you submit more than one entry you should clip the artwork together. Information Required You should include the following information on the back of your entry: Name, age, category, title of entry. School name, address, email address, telephone number and teacher's name (if applicable). Home address, email address and telephone number. Signature of your parent, teacher or guardian. Please note that one signature from an Art Teacher will be sufficient to cover all entries from a school. The closing date The closing date for receipt of entries is 5pm Tuesday, 16 th December 2014. You may enter TW O pieces of artwork. Only individual entries will be accepted. 4. Your entry should be submitted in flat format and should remain within the specified size guidelines. 5. The closing date for entries is Tuesday, 16 th December 2014. This date is final. If your entry is received after this date it will not be submitted to the judges. 6. Your entry must be original and unaided work and any source imagery must be indicated at the time of entry. 7. The Judging Panel is responsible for the allocation of awards and the decision of the Chairperson of the Judging Panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding that decision. 8. All entries shall be the property of the CSC Restorative Practices Project who shall also be the owner of the copyright. CSC Restorative Practices Project will not accept liability for loss or damage to any work submitted. 9. All entries together with the artists details (name, age, school or town) may be used in publicity campaigns (such as calendars, cards, posters and other point of sale materials) for this year s Competition and for future Competitions. Photographs of the winners together with their names and ages may be used in publicity campaigns where the parents or guardians of the winners have given their consent. 10. The rules of the Competition may not be changed or modified and will strictly be applied. 11. All personal information supplied will be used by CSC Restorative Practices Project solely for the administration and management of the CSC Restorative Practices Project Poster Competition.
