8:30 a.m. 9:00 a.m. Rocky Mountain A & B Opening Session and Welcome Remarks The opening session will highlight the historic nature of the first meeting of North American governors and premiers. The program will open with an official welcome. Summit host Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper will give welcoming remarks to open the business program and briefly describe the day s agenda. The session will include remarks from the chairs of NGA and CONAGO and the vice-chair of COF. This session is open to media. Governors will be seated in the traditional hollow square with the host, moderator and chairs of NGA, CONAGO and the vice-chair of COF seated at the head. Governors name plates will be preset. The speakers will be seated at the tables opposite the head table. Attendees will be placed theater-style around the room. A media riser will be at the back of the room. Topics to be discussed include: Customs and border management innovations to improve North America s trade and supply chain infrastructure. New techniques in intermodal freight transportation. The latest proposals for innovative financing for transit and transportation. Panelists will have 10 minutes each to present their remarks. The presentations will be followed by informal discussion among governors and premiers. The moderator will open the session, introduce the panelists and lead the follow-up discussion. Supplemental Agenda Friday, October 30 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. U.S. Air Force Academy Lunch at the U.S. Air Force Academy with Cadets (Optional Event) Governors and premiers will spend time on the floor at the academy and enjoy lunch in the mess hall with cadets. U.S. governors will be placed at tables with cadets from their states. Governors and premiers also will have the opportunity to have pictures taken with their cadets. Participation in this event is limited to governors and premiers only. Governors and premiers will take their own individual transportation (with security provided by Colorado State Patrol) to the U.S. Air Force Academy. An advance RSVP is required to participate. Supplemental Agenda Friday, October 30 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Cheyenne Mountain Complex Tour of Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NORAD and U.S. NORTHERN COMMAND) for Governors and Premiers (Optional Event) Governors and premiers will have the opportunity to tour the Alternate Command Center of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), a unique unification of organizations between the Canadian and United States bi-national organization and the United States Combatant Command for North America. Participation in this event is limited to governors and premiers only. Governors and premiers will take their own individual transportation (with security provided by Colorado State Patrol) to Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NORAD and U.S. NORTHERN COMMAND). An advance RSVP is required to participate, and includes submission of security data for the governor/premier in advance to NORAD. Security data required includes: full name, Social Security number and/or passport number (Mexico & Canada only), and date of birth.
