Welcome Note Welcome to the Badiri Social Entrepreneurship Programme (BSEP) delivered by Badiri Education and Development Academy in collaboration with the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE). Badiri Education and Development Academy is the education and capacity building arm of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment. This pack provides information about the programme, our partners and application process. Badiri Education & Development Academy and SSE look forward to receiving your applications for this unique and exciting programme.

NAMA Women Advancement Establishment was established in 2015 under an Emiri Decree by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, and is chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah. Our core philosophy at NAMA is to raise awareness that women are an indispensable human resource for the development of every nation. NAMA was conceived to go beyond the remit of supporting women and ensuring gender equality to a broader scope that aims to see women become influential key members of society, thereby enabling them to climb the ladder of success. Sharjah Business Women Council, Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, and Badiri Education and Development Academy, fall under the umbrella of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment. Badiri Education and Development Academy, the education and capacity building arm of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment, aims to boost, reward and showcase the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst women locally and globally. Badiri builds the capacity of women entrepreneurs to participate in various sectors of the economy, and provide them with the skills and knowledge to reach their potential. It also focuses on entrepreneurship development, which it encourages through programmes such as Badiri Business Entreprenuership Programme, Badiri Social Entreprenuership Programme, and Badiri E-Academy - an online platform that has courses and resources - in addition to ongoing short workshops, seminars, and courses that aim at creating the next generation of professional women.

It all started in the 1990s with an amazing man called Michael Young. Michael was a serial entrepreneur who founded and co-founded dozens of organisations, including the Open University, the Consumers Association, and the Young Foundation (originally called the Institute of Community Studies). Michael realised he could multiply his impact by equipping the next generation of social entrepreneurs to start up brilliant organisations to create social and environmental change. He started talking to people with curious minds and passionate hearts, who also believed that society. Today the SSE has 10 schools operating across the UK and a further two international schools in Canada and India. SSE has works with 1000 social entrepreneurs each year by educating, guiding and supporting them with the knowledge they need to start-up their social enterprises. Badiri Social Entrepreneurship Programme (BSEP) delegates will be the first cohort of SSE collaboration expanding across the Arab region. About SSE Action Learning Our vision A fair and equal society where the potential of all people is fully realised. Our mission To mobilise the experience of people from all backgrounds and support them to use entrepreneurial approaches to create lasting social and environmental change. Our values Integrity, inclusivity, empowerment. At SSE, we know that entrepreneurs favor action. They know what they want to achieve and want to get on with it. They are willing to explore their environment for opportunities and resources, they are people-powered individuals, they learn as they go. Our courses understand that students come from diverse backgrounds, with a broad range of values, opinions and objectives. This course will offer the opportunity to question and analyze the experience of other social entrepreneurs across the UAE, the UK and India.
