Please note that students selected as Best & Brightest Scholars are automatically required to enroll in and are expected to fully participate in, the MMF Leadership Development Institute (LDI), which is the official pre-expo workshop series of Your Turn Intern Expo. LDI Alum that already graduated from the LDI program in a prior year and apply and are selected as Best & Brightest Scholars, must fulfill LDI requirements through customized Campus Peer Mentor / Campus Liaison assignments, MMF identified Administrative Internship placements, or other customized assignments provided by MMF to couple academic education with practical experience & engagement. Students not selected as Best & Brightest Scholars may be eligible for nomination and enrollment into the LDI by MMF educational, community-based, business, and government partners for priority consideration. Initial I have read and understand the 2019-2020 Eligibility Requirements & Participation Guidelines of the MMF Best & Brightest Scholarship Program. Furthermore, I understand that if I do not meet the Eligibility Criteria for the Best & Brightest Scholarship Program, my application may not be considered for acceptance into the Best & Brightest Scholarship Program, but I may be nominated by the Scholarship Committee or MMF / Your Turn Intern Expo partners for consideration as a participant in the MMF Leadership Development Institute. 55. STUDENT S SIGNATURE DATE NOTE: If selected, scholars will be required to attend a mandatory New Scholar Orientation / Meet & Greet, all Leadership Development Institute Training Conferences (2 full-day days total, to be announced upon conditional selection, depending on regions), Annual Leadership Development Institute Social Mixer, the Annual Opening Doors Awards to receive scholar recognition, and the Annual Leadership Development Institute Graduation & Certification Awards Ceremony. Applicants that have already completed the MMF Leadership Development Institute (LDI) and are selected as Best & Brightest Scholars must fulfill LDI requirements through volunteer campus Peer Mentor / Liaison assignments, MMF Administrative Internship placements, or other customized assignments provided by MMF to the scholar to couple academic education with practical leadership skills and engagement opportunity. Scholars should understand that the Best & Brightest Scholarship is disbursed in two disbursements, Fall and Spring. Fall disbursements begin processing after Fall Grades post and MMF verification of student full-time enrollment, minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and documented satisfactory participation in the MMF Leadership Development Institute (As LDI Student or Liaison/Peer Mentor with customized peer reinvestment deliverables) and verification of any other applicable program eligibility requirements being met, as outlined in the 2019-2020 Best & Brightest Scholar Eligibility Guidelines / Criteria featured on the MMF website. Spring Disbursements begin processing in following MMF verification of student full-time enrollment thru March 2020, minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, documented satisfactory participation and/or graduation from the 2019-2020 Leadership Development Institute, and verification of any other applicable program eligibility requirements being met, as outlined in the 2019-2020 Best & Brightest Scholar Eligibility Guidelines / Criteria featured on the MMF website. Disbursements are structured in this fashion annually to maximize student academic grade performance, participation accountability, academic enrollment retention, and the extent to which each student couples academic education in the classroom with practical leadership & employment skills training and other practical engagement opportunities given MMF commitment to student academic and professional advancement. By signing this application, applicant acknowledges that he or she may be conditionally selected based upon information submitted in his or her scholarship application and may be recognized as a Best & Brightest scholar in that regard at the Annual Opening Doors Awards based upon information submitted in his or her scholarship application. However, if it is discovered prior to scholarship disbursement that the applicant fails to maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA and/or meet other scholarship eligibility requirements during the Fall or Spring Semester (i.e. grade performance, full-time enrollment, satisfactory Leadership Development Institute participation / graduation, satisfactory campus liaison participation / customized peer reinvestment assignments, satisfactory customized Administrative Internship participation, etc.), that he or she will be deemed ineligible and may not receive the actual scholarship disbursement.
