SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE APRIL 5, 2018 Fraser Valley Trade and Exhibition Centre (Tradex)
Message from host city Mayor Henry Braun, City of Abbotsford It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the Fraser Valley Career Connections and Conference, Tomorrow s Jobs Today, on April 5th at the Tradex in Abbotsford. Today s workforce and labour market is rapidly changing. During the recent Abbotsford Business Walks, we heard loud and clear that our local businesses faced challenges in finding skilled workers. To support businesses, City of Abbotsford Economic Development (CAED) came up with a big plan to join communities from across the Fraser Valley and connect our region s businesses with job seekers. This first ever job fair and business conference is designed to help your business grasp workforce opportunities that will make you more competitive now and in the future. There is so much for you to plug into: Hear an inspiring keynote speaker; Learn vital information on topics like wage subsidies and job grants, hiring immigrant workers and trends in human resources; Reach out to a keen, diverse work force that is looking for career opportunities and ready to discover the education and skills they need to find job success. If you re looking to build important connections and share your business s story with job seekers, then this event is for you. You ll be shaping the future of your business and the future of our growing region. The FVCCC will empower both employers and job seekers with resources to rise to the challenge of addressing the current hiring demands. Be a part of the FVCCC and help shape the future of our communities!
Be a part of shaping the future! Tomorrow s Jobs, Today. As a partnership with communities from across the Fraser Valley, we are proud to host the first ever Fraser Valley Career Connections and Conference (FVCCC) on April 5, 2018 at the Fraser Valley Trade and Exhibition Centre (Tradex). With a booming economy, a young and diverse population and an abundance of business resources, the Fraser Valley is a place of opportunity. But with changes taking place in the workforce and labour market, sometimes both businesses and job seekers need support connecting to these opportunities. The FVCCC has been created to address the urgent labour demands in our region and showcase the various business gems that reside within our communities. This event is targeted to employers from all sectors across the Fraser Valley and to job seekers from across Canada. As a growing number of local businesses have expressed the need for support in hiring, the event goal is to put the Fraser Valley on the map for job seekers, while facilitating an opportunity for businesses to gain exposure and participate in employer only sessions pertaining to funding, wage subsidies and human resource trends. Employers will also be able to take advantage of on-site interviews as well as pre-arranged virtual interviews to extend their reach to skilled workers from across the country. DID YOU KNOW? Over the coming decade, 70% of all job openings will result from people leaving the workforce, mostly due to retirement. In all, B.C. is forecast to have 917,000 job openings between 2017 and 2027. Nearly half of expected job openings will be filled by people entering the workforce for the first time. 78% of future jobs will require some form of post-secondary education or training. (Source: British Columbia Labour Market Outlook, 2017) This event strives to ensure tomorrow s success for today s employers and job seekers as we together build a vibrant economy across our region. Through your sponsorship, we can customize a morning session catered to the needs of employers and an afternoon session to showcase businesses as they engage job seekers from across all of British Columbia and Canada. The FVCCC will empower both employers and job seekers with resources to rise to the challenge of addressing the current hiring demands. Be a part of the FVCCC and help shape the future of our communities!
