Welcome to the Cougar Battalion and always remember that we are SECOND TO NONE! Fresh Start As a Crosby student, and especially as a JROTC cadet it is expected of you to do well in all your classes. Take advantage of this fresh start, especially for new incoming cadets. High School marks the beginning of a new journey, one that will determine your future and follow you throughout your life. Make wise choices! Don t be someone who strays off into the wrong path, be someone whom is recognized for success and achievements here at Crosby High School. We re more than just a class with uniform. It is more than just wearing the uniform on Tuesdays or marching around and learning basic drill moves. JROTC is an organization that not only disciplines you, but also gives you the basics skills and knowledge to become a leader and a successful citizen for your future. However it doesn t stop there. Aside from that we have a variety of teams that you can become apart of, so be sure to sign up! Teams: Pep-Squad, PT, Rifle, Orienteering, Color Guard, and CERT

POW-MIA On September 16 th, Crosby JROTC attended the annual POW-MIA ceremony. JROTC Color Guard presenting the colors during the POW-MIA ceremony Prisoners of War- Missing in Action Table set up -What s the symbolism? A round table for five is set up, each representing one of our branches of the military. A white table cloth is used to show the purity of each individual as they defend our country. In the middle of the table there is a red rose, symbolism of the blood they may have shed and the love of their families. There is also a candle to signify the light of hope we all have in our hearts for them to return. On each plate there is a sliced lemon along with a pinch of salt, the lemon reminds of the bitter fate they all had, while the salt reminds of the unlimited fallen tears of their families as they await for them. Lastly the glass is inverted and the chair is empty, they can not toast with us, they are no longer here.
Pep- Squad The cadets run before and after the game, and during each touchdown with flags spelling the word cougars for school pride. This is a photo of the current team commanders. Jennifer Upchurch (left), and her co-commander Juan Rodarte (right)
