The clinicians input will help ensure that: LBI commissions the highest quality treatment service with a view to securing the best possible outcomes for service users within the resource allocation and that maintains a consistent focus on quality, integration and innovation; The voice of local clinicians is heard and the interests of users of treatment services and the wider community remain at the heart of discussions and decisions about drug and alcohol treatment; Public Health acts in the best interests of the health of the local population at all times; Local partnerships that contribute to the achievement of the strategic aims of the clinical area are developed. To attend and contribute to relevant meetings for the clinical lead area. Undertake any necessary preparation and pre-reading prior to relevant meetings and post meeting actions. To support the identification of gaps in service provision and to assist Islington PH to work with partners to bridge the gaps To ensure compliance with relevant Department of Health and NICE guidance and requirements. To ensure that substance misuse care in Islington is service user focussed, quality based and supports the achievement of improved health outcomes for service users. To develop close and effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders to promote health improvement and integrated services across the substance misuse and social care landscape. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT Clinical Leads are expected to undertake an annual appraisal to review progress and work streams and identify learning needs and key objectives relevant to the role. Successes and challenges in the role also be reviewed. A personal development plan will be agreed and kept updated. Attendance at bi-monthly clinical lead evening meetings is expected as part of the role. These are usually on Wednesday evenings 6:30-8pm.These provide peer support for the role and facilitate collaboration and cohesion with the CCG s objectives and vision.
CPD events relevant to the role may be agreed with the Clinical Director. Financial support to pay for CPD events is available and subject to funds. Time taken to attend educational events is usually to be taken within the allocated sessional commitment. These responsibilities are not exhaustive and there may be other requirements though these will be agreed with reasonable time commitment.

REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE Assessment A, I, P A EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Qualified and currently registered as a GP, Nurse or Clinical leadership training AHP (e.g. pharmacist) MRCGP Practising as a GP, Nurse or AHP with a provider of primary medical services to a registered list of patients under a General Medical Services, Personal Medical Services or Alternative Provider Medical Services contract whose premises is situated within the geographical boundary of the Local Borough of Islington.
