About the Department School of Studies in Library and Information Science has a glorious history of being the First Dept. of Vikram University, Ujjain and also the first Department in Madhya Pradesh for starting Diploma Courses in Library Science in (1957). It is again very prestigious to say that Dr. S.R. Ranganathan The Father of Library Science served here for two years as visiting faculty. At present the School of Studies in Library & Information Science is offering BLIS, MLIS, M.Phil. and Ph.D. Programs under faculty of Information Technology. About Ujjain City Ujjain is regarded as the most renowned seat of learning as Lord Krishna, with Balram and Sudama completed their education in Ujjain at Guru Sandipani s Ashram. It is also called the Greenwich of Hindu Astronomers and Astrology as Tropic of Cancer known as Kark Rekha passes through Ujjain. It is one of the greatest cities of ancient India and one of the sacred cities of Hindus in India. It is also one of the four towns where the KumbhaMela is held and is also known as KumbhNagri. The city attracts a great deal of pilgrims, as it is the home of The Mahakaleshwar. Ujjain is well connected through Roads and Railways. The nearest Airport is at Indore. About ISST Intellectuals Society for Socio-Techno Welfare (ISST) was established in 2009 with a mission to build a globally accepted intellectual potential among the youths, academicians and researchers. ISST s vision is to become one of the leading organizations, whose training programs and publications are globally accepted. To give pace to its working, ISST undertakes aids, co-coordinates, and augments research in various enumerated subjects of Sciences, Engineering, Management & Social Sciences.
