Hello, New York City

Citi s mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress. We have 200 years of experience helping our clients meet the world s toughest challenges and embrace its greatest opportunities. Citi will continue to support progress in New York City one of the world s leading economic and cultural centers and the home of our global headquarters moving forward.

Our world Citi is uniquely positioned to help enable progress for cities is changing Today, more than half of the world s population resides in cities. By 2050, it will be 70%. By that time, the top cities will not only house most of the world s people, but will also generate the majority of its economic growth and wealth. Driven by the three major secular trends of globalization, urbanization and digitization, city residents and businesses will gain greater access to opportunities than ever before. As the world becomes more connected, cities need a partner with both a global scale and an understanding of local nuances. In a word, Citi is global. Our more than 200,000 employees operate in a network of 1,000 cities and 160 countries worldwide. We are proud to partner with our clients and the communities in which we serve and are dedicated to driving progress on both a local and global scale.

Our partnership with New York City spans more than 200 years 1812 A group of merchants and statesmen sought to set up a new bank in New York to compete with Philadelphia, Boston and Baltimore in supporting international commerce. After overcoming obstacles, the state legislature provided a charter and our first office opened at 38 Wall Street. 1812-1840s Participated in major public ventures, including the first scheduled packet shipping line in the Americas to carry cargo and passengers across the Atlantic; the Erie Canal waterway which connected New York City and the Great Lakes; and the Croton Aqueduct water distribution system that served as a fresh water source for the city. 1884 Bank President Percy Pyne consolidated the gas sector in New York into a single entity, Consolidated Gas Co. of New York, a precursor to Con Edison. 1908-1912 Financed $94.7 million in bond issues for the Boston & Albany, Delaware & Hudson, New York Central, and New York, Ontario & Western railroads. 1921 Established our first retail branch in the U.S. at 42nd Street in Manhattan. 1927 Issued $20 million in gold bonds, proceeds of which were applied to the construction of the George Washington Bridge. 1961 Moved our global headquarters from 55 Wall Street to 399 Park Avenue in midtown Manhattan. 1961-1966 Issued approximately $60 million of loans under New York State s low-cost tuition loan program. 1977 Pioneered the commercialization of the ATM and introduced a complete system across New York City, beginning with a branch in Queens. Citicorp Center was dedicated in midtown Manhattan as an office and public space complex, with a distinctive 45-degree angled top and supported by four, nine-story columns. 1992 Introduced new software operating programs for Citicard Banking Centers to facilitate 24-hour access and use by people with disabilities. 1994 Citi Foundation began investing in New York City. Since then, the Citi Foundation has invested more than $198 million in nonprofit organizations in New York City helping households and communities attain economic opportunity. 1998 Opened our first Community Lending Center in New York to do outreach in Harlem, which had one of the lowest home-ownership rates in the country. 2006 Launched Global Community Day, an annual volunteer event spanning more than 90 countries. In New York City, more than 28,000 Citi colleagues, alumni, clients, family and friends have provided more than 140,000 hours of service since 2012. 2008 Selected by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Citi served as lead underwriter for $2.6 billion in bond issuances over three years used to finance the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site, including the centerpiece One World Trade Center tower. 2009 Citi has been a sponsor of Citi Field home of the New York Mets since the ballpark opened its doors in 2009. 2010 Opened innovative flagship branch in the heart of Union Square with Citi s Smart Banking technology, including interactive walls, enhanced image ATMs and customer service experts via video-assist, the first of its kind in the U.S. In the largest public housing financing in history, Citi partnered with the NYC Housing Authority to finance $357 million of debt and made a $210 million Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) equity investment. 2011 Awarded a comprehensive receivables contract to re-engineer New York City s electronic payment services, streamlining how the city collects millions of dollars annually across dozens of its agencies. 2012 Collaborated with the Mayor s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) and supported NYCitizenship in Schools, the first municipally led citizenship and financial empowerment program. 2013 As title sponsor, Citi helped to launch the Citi Bike program, the largest and most sustainable bike-share program in the U.S. and New York City s first new transportation network in more than a century. 2014 Provided $3.2 million investment to rehabilitate The New York Public Library s Schomburg Center in Harlem, one of the world s leading research facilities devoted to the preservation of materials on the global African diaspora experience. Citi CEO Mike Corbat and Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a partnership to establish a $350 million fund through the Community Preservation Corporation structured and arranged by Citi to support affordable housing throughout New York City. 2015 Provided $160 million financing for Essex Crossing, a 25-story building with 195 housing units developed by Delancey Street Associates, which is part of a master planned development on the Lower East Side. Became the founding corporate supporter of New York City s largest public education and outreach tax credit campaign in the City s history. 2016 Citi managed a landmark deal to finance approximately $2.5 billion of debt for a private consortium LaGuardia Gateway Partners to redevelop the Central Terminal at LaGuardia Airport. The plan is the largest U.S. airport transaction and U.S. public private partnership ever. 388 Greenwich Street became Citi s Global Headquarters, with a multi-year renovation in full swing.

With a goal of reaching up to 100,000 lowincome youth nationwide, this $50 million initiative is the largest ever undertaken by the Citi Foundation in its history. Through entrepreneurship training, service opportunities, mentoring and summer jobs, Pathways to Progress aims to give young people the skills that they ll need to access a job early in their working lives, betterpositioning them for their professional and economic future in our communities. 29,000+ low-income youth impacted in New York City alone $ 15 million+ pledged to help young people in New York City increase their employability at a time of high joblessness Data based on 2015 yearly totals

Pushing progress forward through affordable housing Citi is committed to helping New York City achieve the nation s most ambitious affordable housing program. New York City has been our home for more than 200 years, and supporting the city s progress has always been a priority. As the nation s number one affordable housing lender, Citi is a leading source of capital and innovation for affordable housing and infrastructure in our own backyard. In 2014, Citi Community Capital took the lead in the historic $350 million funding package that provided the Community Preservation Corporation with the capital it needed to continue its mission of financing the construction and rehabilitation of smaller affordable housing projects throughout the city, a sorely underfunded development sector. Ultimately, these funds will result in the construction and preservation of 7,500 apartments, along with jobs that strengthen New York City s neighborhoods. After the financial crisis when others were retreating from the housing market, Citi helped arrange, fund and manage the New York Affordable Housing Preservation Fund, a partnership with L+M Development Partners designed to acquire and renovate properties that are at risk of becoming unaffordable to low- and moderate-income families. For projects like Arverne View in Rockaway and Two Bridges on the Lower East Side, the Fund has helped preserve thousands of New York City apartments, keeping them affordable for years to come. Back in 2010, Citi Community Capital provided over $500 million to help the New York City Housing Authority renovate and secure additional ongoing Federal assistance for 21 public housing projects with more than 20,000 apartments. This was the largest financing ever focused on public housing and it helped the Authority take care of years of deferred maintenance. Citi has also financed new housing for seniors and LGBT youth, and supportive housing for veterans and people with disabilities all to help support progress in our home town.
