2015 BLACK & GOLD WEEKEND schedule of events friday, april 24, 2015 9:00 a.m. Black & Gold Registration Opens Wentworth Hall (outside of Admissions) Registration will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. 10:00 a.m. Back to Class: History of Technology & Manufacturing Lab Demo Manufacturing Center, Williston 001 Remember the Basics Industry Lab? Come and see the renovated center, the Manufacturing Lab and rediscover the history of technology. Demonstrations will be provided using the new technology. 11:00 a.m. Up Close with the WIT Endowment Chair Trustee Steve Fusi, MDE 72, ME 74 Location TBD Steve will discuss the purpose of our endowment, how it s managed, and who really benefits. He will also share some perspective around the real source of endowment growth and how we partner with our alumni and administration. 12:00 p.m. Shuttle to Deer Island (includes box lunch) Shuttle to Museum of Science (includes box lunch) 12:30 p.m. Visit to Museum of Science Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed Uncover the rise and eventual decline of this complex civilization, including its social, natural and spiritual realms. The visit includes time to visit other exhibits at the museum. 1:00 p.m. Deer Island Tour After learning the basics of wastewater treatment, this walking tour will begin in the historic pump station where guests will learn about Deer Island. The group will then visit the South System Pump Station, Digester Road, and the disinfection/discharge area. 6:00 p.m. Wine Tasting and Dinner Uncork and unwind with classmates and friends at this wine tasting and dinner. 8:00 p.m. Shuttle back to hotels Program subject to change
saturday, april 25, 2015 7:00 a.m. Shuttle from hotels to Wentworth 7:00 a.m. Black & Gold Registration Opens (outside ) Registration will be open until 3:30 p.m. 7:30 a.m. Breakfast Enjoy a complimentary breakfast with fellow alumni and friends before the Commencement ceremony. 8:30 a.m. Cap and Gown Distribution Caps and gowns will be passed out to the Class of 1965 who will then be led to the Commencement ceremony as a group. Guests will be escorted to reserved seating at this time. Caps and gowns are complimentary souvenirs for alumni. 10:00 a.m. Wentworth Commencement Ceremony Wentworth Quad Members of the Class of 1965 are invited to participate in Commencement exercises. You will receive an honorary Bachelor of Technology degree for your lifetime of achievement. 11:30 a.m. President s Reception Watson Auditorium Join President Zorica Pantić for light refreshments. 12:45 p.m. Black & Gold Society Celebration Luncheon President Zorica Pantić inducts the Class of 1965 into the Black & Gold Society in honor of the 50th anniversary of their graduation from Wentworth. A Champagne toast and celebratory lunch will be served, followed by a class photo to commemorate the day and the Presidential Presentation. 3:00 p.m. Campus Tours Wentworth Hall (outside of Admissions) Take a walking tour of the Wentworth campus guided by a student representative who will share an insider s view of Wentworth life today. 3:00 p.m. Free Time Shuttles back to hotels begin 5:30 p.m. Shuttles from hotels to campus 6:00 p.m. 50th Reunion Celebration Dinner Watson Auditorium Enjoy a special reunion celebration dinner. Reminisce with old friends and make new ones during this celebration in honor of the Class of 1965. Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-228-9290. Be sure to ask for the Wentworth Alumni 50th Reunion: Black & Gold Weekend rate. Be sure to book your room by March 25, 2015 for the Westin Copley Place and by April 3, 2015 for the Boston Marriott Copley Place. After these dates, the Wentworth rates will no longer apply. Attire Business attire preferred for the Wine Tasting and Dinner, the Celebration Luncheon, and the Reunion Dinner.
