Thomas Busch, PHS Director of Bands: COPPERFEST/MACKINAC DRESS REHEARSAL: In preparation for the upcoming trip and competitive parade, the band will be marching at Oconto, WI on June 9th for the "Copperfest" celebration as a dress rehearsal (Full Uniform). Schedule for the day: 7 AM - Report Time, rehearsal 7:45 - Change into uniforms 8:15 - Depart PHS 9:00 - Staging time in Oconto 10 AM-Parade Steps Off 11 AM-Food/Refreshments at Park (after parade, approx.) Noon - Depart Oconto (approx) 1 PM - Arrive at PHS, change out of uniforms - depart (approximate) Mackinac Island Music Department Trip 2018 Updates: Marching Band Members: Dates of the trip: Saturday, June 16 - Monday, June 18 Report time to PHS for band members: 8:00 AM for rehearsal and luggage inspection Return to PHS: approximately 8:00 PM What to bring on the trip: Uniform necessities - Black, long socks. White, sleeved t-shirt. White n' bright cleaned dinkles. White n' bright, cleaned gloves. For the GRAND HOTEL: Men - Dress suit, Dress shirt, Tie, Dress shoes and socks. Ladies - Dress (gown or formal) Dress slack outfit. NO DENIM. NO Athletic shoes. For the rest of the trip: Dress for cool weather. Comfortable walking shoes as you will be walking LOTS of miles! Mandatory Parent/Student Parent Meeting: Thursday, June 14 @ 8 PM. PHS Auditorium. Because this is an out of state trip, parents must sign off on their student s participation and appropriate forms (med and otherwise). We will be sharing the forms with the students prior to the meeting so families have ample time to acquire signatures from physicians and alike. Attention Class of 2022! From Charlotte Skala, PCMS Booster Vice-President: Summer marching schedule for middle schoolers: June 19, 21, 26 & 28 - marching band rehearsals from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM June 28 - Concert on the concourse at 7:00 PM (Arrive 6:15 PM) July 10, 12, 17 & 19 - marching band rehearsals from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM July 22 - Polka Days Parade at 11:00 AM (Arrive 10:15 AM) From Renee Slezewski PMB President: The following positions are open for the 2018-19 school year. o Met Force Lead o Booyah Lead o Lambeau ticket scanning lead o Publicity Coordinator Most of these positions do not take a lot of time and can be co-led by a multiple people. If you purchase gas & grocery gift cards, there is now a handy form available to make it easier for our card processing folks to ensure credit goes to your student's account. See the fundraising page on the website. Our card program is a great way to raise money for your student s music account in both band and choir! For groceries, we offer Woodman s and Festival gift cards. Woodman's profit is 5%, and Festival is 3%. We will split the profit between student accounts and booster general fund. We are offering $50 & $100 cards for both stores. We also offer Kwik Trip cards with a 5% profit to student accounts, in $25, $50, and $100 amounts. New students - Your student will be measured and fit for their full uniform and pep band uniform. This will be done on Marching Band rehearsal nights starting at 5:00. We will also be fitting the marching band uniforms on Summer Band Lesson days. Have your son/daughter come in earlier than the scheduled lesson or stay a bit later. (This is just until they are fit for their uniform.) They will also need to purchase Dinkles (the white marching shoes) and a pep band uniform (shirt and shorts) for summer parades and performances. Dinkles... $30 Shorts... $20 Pep band shirt $25 There are some gently-used options that may be available (sizes and prices vary). Returning students have you grown? Come in for a refit. If you need to purchase new Dinkles, shirt or shorts remember to bring in your clean, old stuff so we can try to resell it for you. Summer 2018 PHS Band and Marching Band Information During June 2018, group music lessons are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and last for 1 hour. Students are expected to attend lessons 1 day a week. These are for all band students. Tuesdays: (June 12, 19 & 26) 8:00AM Clarinets 9:00AM Flutes/Mallets 10:00AM Alto Sax/French Horns 11:00AM Bass Drums/Cymbals 1:00PM Snares/Quads 2:00PM Tenor Saxes/Trombones/Baritones 3:00PM Tubas/Bari Saxes Wednesdays: (June 13, 20 & 27) 8:00AM Tubas/Bari Saxes 9:00AM Tenor Saxes/Trombones/Baritones 10:00AM Snares/Quads 11:00AM Clarinets 1:00PM Flutes/Mallets 2:00PM Alto Saxes/French Horns 3:00PM Trumpets Thursdays: (June 14, 22 & 28) 8:00AM Trumpets 9:00AM Alto Saxes/French Horns 10:00AM Tenor Saxes/Trombones/Baritones 11:00AM Tubas/Bari Saxes 1:00PM Bass Drums/Cymbals 2:00PM Flutes/Mallets The marching band has rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the summer from 5:30pm (drum line and color guard) and 6:30 (winds) until 9:30pm. If your child is joining marching band, he/she will need to be present for a band lesson (3 total, one each week) and the marching band rehearsals both prior to the Mackinac Island Trip and after, as we will have our Concert on the Concourse on the last Thursday of June. Planned dates at this time are: June 12, 13, 14 lessons and rehearsal June 16, 17, 18 music department trip to Mackinac Island June 19, 20, 21 lessons and rehearsal June 26, 27, 28 lessons and rehearsal June 28 Concert on the Concourse July 22 Polka Days Parade July 23-27 Band Camp Polka Days Parade and Band Camp are mandatory for members of the marching band. In August, we will have Wednesday evening rehearsals from 5:30 (drum line and color guard) and 6:30 (winds) until 9:00pm. Once school begins, our rehearsals will go to Thursday night.

Summer 2018 PHS Choir Information 1. Show Choir Camp July 30 & 31, August 6 & 7, 2018; 12pm-3pm 2. Men's Section Get-Together - Monday, July 30-5:30-8:30pm 3. Women's Section Get-Together - Tuesday, July 31-5:30-8:30pm 4. Choir Camp - Monday, August 6-3:30-8:30pm Show choir requirements: You MUST be able to attend all dates/times in order to participate 2 Transportation is not provided for this. You must find your own ride. Food will not be provided at the show choir dates Bring a water bottle and comfortable clothing to dance in Drop off and pick up will be at PHS, Door 14 This is open to all 2018-2019 PHS Choir students. No audition is required. Please just show up.
