We will be holding recharter turn in / clinics on Thursday, Nov 1, 15, and 29 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the LDS church on Coit (5095 Coit Road, Frisco). It is the goal of our district to have all recharters turned in BEFORE December 1, 2018. If you need assistance in processing the recharter for your unit, please attend one of these sessions or reach out to your Unit Commissioner. Also, when turning in your recharter, an annual charter agreement, signed by the head of your unit s chartering organization, must be turned in. Unit leaders please remember to turn in a Journey to Excellence scorecard for your unit before the end of the calendar year. These can be completed and turned in along with your recharter paperwork. Information about JTE can be found here: Journey To Excellence. Be sure to log all service project hours for your unit. There are also Tracking Workbooks that can help you calculate your score. There are gold, silver and bronze patches that can be worn on the uniform of scouts and scouters in units that earn this award.
NYLT is an intense, 5 ½ day, outdoor leadership training experience for youth troop, team, crew and ship leaders. The course goal is to prepare young men and women to become superior leaders in their local unit and in the future. Participants learn to use leadership skills within the framework of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. BSA National carefully developed the NYLT curriculum with input from current corporate trainers, the United States Air Force Academy, and others in the training community. Graduates of this program become senior leaders in their troop, team, and crew; as well as in their schools, churches, and communities. The course is led and taught by some of the best youth leaders in the council; all of whom are graduates of the NYLT program and typically have staffed multiple courses. The adult advisors who assist the Youth Staff are Wood Badge trained.
