Everyone has such an important part to play and there are many compliments being given for every area of the care we deliver in its many forms. We have eight nursing students working with us on the first floor at the moment as part of their Bachelor of Nursing degree. Wellbeing and Lifestyle Can t believe we are half way in to the year where has time gone? Had a lovely visit from the mayor of Christchurch followed by morning tea. It was a great success; we had a fashion lady bring some of her designs in to sell. She was from the North Island and had come to Christchurch rest homes for one week. It was a great success and had beautiful clothes on show. We had a lot of residents that bought some clothes. The Wellbeing and Lifestyle Team - Patsy, Rose, Katrina Message from Management A big thank you to all the Sisters supporting the staff to understand and assist to reflect our Mission and Core Values in our daily activities. Had our weekly activities which always has a great turn out; for eg: bowls, golf, quizzes, exercises, housie, entertainment and lots more to mention. Had some lovely drives around the city. Especially one to see is snow on the top of the port hills. Residents enjoyed the afternoon tea at the Bon Mere café at Nazareth. Had lots of laughs + chat. They always enjoy the food there. Residents baked the Christmas mince pies for our mid-winter afternoon tea. It was wonderful to see them all want to help, reminiscing on how they used to bake for Christmas. Had a lovely afternoon tea for mid-winter with XMas lights and fire on the TV screen. It was so cozy and we had Christmas music to listen to. The residents enjoyed getting together for a chat with each other. Enjoyed some of our lovely sunny afternoons in July where we were able to sit outside in the sun for a short while and get our Vitamin D. Had help from our volunteer for our walks + activities. We are so grateful to have our volunteers. On that note thanks to all residents to staff and volunteers for all your help and support. God Bless you all from Wellbeing Team. Thanking you. Support Services Cleaning and laundry staff have been busy as usual maintaining their areas, and I d like to take the chance to thank household staff as we have had a very favorable outcome from our recent resident s survey. I know each person takes pride in their work in both the laundry and cleaning areas. It certainly makes my job a lot easier. Welcome to our new residents many of whom have taken the opportunity to have their personal clothing labelled by our laundry staff. We still have many items of clothing in our lost property box so please take a look when you get a chance. Ka Kite ano Caren
