Adopt Agenda Motion by Chicago Alumni Chapter; Seconded by Eta Rho. Passes Unanimously IV. Approve the minutes of the previous Council meeting Motion by Iota Sigma; Seconded by Delta Tau Passes Unanimously V. Report of the Provincial Vice President (Peter Bjelan) The Huron and Central Regions have joined the province Welcome! Pete is looking for suggestions and recommendations of alumni to fulfill the provincial committee positions. The Committees are: Alumni Development Community Service Professional Development Scholastic Development and Awards Disciplinary Committee Pete reviewed the Grand Chapter Congress legislation. VI. Provincial Financial Report No financial action was taken. PVP Bjelan will send a written report to the chapters following Congress. VII. Reports of the Provincial Committees No reports since the committees are new. VIII. Old Business None.

IX. New Business Proposal 1: Re-alignment of North Central Region Motion by Alpha Epsilon; Seconded by Gamma Eta Proposal 1 Change the North Central Region boundaries to include the northwest area of Wisconsin (north of US Highway 90 and west of US Highway 51). North Central Region, to comprise all collegiate and alumni chapters in Minnesota, North Dakota, the northern area of South Dakota (north of US Hwy 90) and the northwestern area of Wisconsin (north of US Hwy 90 and west of US Hwy 51 including the metropolitan La Crosse area). Active chapters would include: Alpha Epsilon (University of Minnesota), Epsilon Iota (Minnesota State University, Mankato), Eta Rho (University of Wisconsin, La Crosse), Theta Tau (St Cloud State University), Kappa Upsilon (Winona State University), Nu Tau (University of St. Thomas) and Twin Cities Alumni. Explanation of Proposal: The Eta Rho chapter is closer in distance to the chapters in the North Central Region than they are to the other chapters in the Great Lakes Region. By changing the boundary, Eta Rho will more easily be able to participate in regional activities. Passes Unanimously. Note: The North Central Region now reads in the National Policy and Procedures Manual: North Central Region, to comprise the chapters in Minnesota, North Dakota, the northern area of South Dakota (north of U.S. Hwy 90) and the northwestern area of Wisconsin (north of U.S. Hwy 90 and west of U.S. Hwy 51 including the metropolitan La Crosse area). Active Collegiate Chapters: Alpha Epsilon (University of Minnesota), Epsilon Iota (Minnesota State University), Eta Rho (University of Wisconsin-La Crosse), Theta Tau (St. Cloud State University), Kappa Upsilon (Winona State University), and Nu Tau (University of St. Thomas). Inactive Collegiate Chapters: Alpha Mu (University of North Dakota). Alumni Chapters Franchised 00-01: Twin Cities. Alumni Chapters Franchised 01-02: None.

Proposal 2: Re-alignment of the Great Lakes Region Motion by Eta Mu; Seconded by Gamma Theta Motion to amend Proposal 2 by North Central Regional VP, Amy Briggs: Strike the entire first paragraph; strike the first half of the second sentence in the second paragraph; strike the following chapters from the third paragraph: Kappa Phi, Iota Lambda, Northwest Indiana Alumni. (see below) Seconded by Epsilon Omega Proposal 2 Change the Great lakes Regional Boundaries to include the northern most part of Indiana (north of US Highway 30 and including the metropolitan area of Fort Wayne). Great Lakes Region, to comprise all collegiate and alumni chapters in the northern portion of Illinois (north of US Highway 24 from the Indiana state line to US Highway 51; US Highway 51 north to Interstate Highway 80; and Interstate Highway 80 west to the Iowa Border). Indiana north of US Highway 30, but including the metropolitan area of Ft. Wayne from the Illinois to the Ohio borders, and the South Eastern portion of Wisconsin, South of US Highway 90 and East of US Highway 51 (not including the metropolitan Lacrosse area). Active chapters would include: Delta (Marquette University), Alpha Omega (DePaul University), Gamma Pi (Loyola University-Chicago), Zeta Xi (Lewis University), Eta Mu (Northern Illinois University), Kappa Phi (Valparaiso University), Iota Lambda (Indiana-Purdue Ft. Wayne), Chicago Alumni, Northwest Indiana Alumni. The Chair was surrendered to Amy Briggs, North Central Regional VP. Amendment to Proposal 2 passes. Proposal 2, as amended, passes. Note: The Great Lakes Region now reads in the National Policy and Procedures Manual: Great Lakes Region, to comprise the chapters in the northern portion of Illinois (north of U.S. Highway 24 from the Indiana state line to U.S. Highway 51; U.S. Highway 51 north to Interstate Highway 80; and Interstate Highway 80 west to the Iowa border) and the southern and eastern portions of Wisconsin, south of U.S. Highway 90 and east of U.S. Highway 51 (not including the metropolitan Lacrosse area). Active Collegiate Chapters: Delta (Marquette University), Alpha Omega (DePaul University), Gamma Pi (Loyola University-Chicago), Zeta Xi (Lewis University) and Eta Mu (Northern Illinois University).

Inactive Collegiate Chapters: Beta (Northwestern University-Chicago), Zeta (Northwestern University-Evanston), Psi (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Alpha Psi (University of Chicago), and Theta Xi (University of Wisconsin-Whitewater). Alumni Chapters Franchised for 00-01: Chicago and Milwaukee. Alumni Chapters Franchised for 01-02: Chicago and Milwaukee. Proposal 3: Re-alignment of the Huron Region Deferred until the next Provincial meeting so the proposal can be better defined with input from the affected chapters. No other new business. X. Legislative review for Grand Chapter Congress None to review, yet. Just a reminder, read the bylaws for the new process of submitting changes. XI. Date and Location of the next Provincial meeting March 8 10, 2002 at the Marriott O Hare in Chicago, IL Registration is $79. The date and location of the 2003 Provincial council meeting will be announced at the next provincial meeting. XII. Adjournment Motion by Alpha Eta; Seconded by Kappa Sigma. Motion carried.
