1:55 pm 2:55 pm 240: Genomic Based Tests for Personalized Prostate Cancer Care Brian Helfand, MD, PhD The genetic basis to prostate cancer has been well established. Within the past several years, it has become evident that mutations and variations within germline DNA predispose to prostate cancer and lethal disease. Knowledge of these mutations can help guide screening, biopsy and treatment decisions. In addition, genomic based tests (e.g. RNA based assays including Oncotype Dx, Prolaris and Decipher) have also become available which can help guide treatment decisions for men considering active surveillance. Some of these tests can help guide decisions for additional therapy after surgery. Together these genomic based tests should be utilized to provide personalized care for prostate cancer. 3:00 pm 4:00 pm 250: Mastering the Art and Science of Erectile Dysfunction Treatment Jeffrey Albaugh, PhD, APRN, CUCNS Erectile dysfunction affects about 1 in 5 men. Many are referred from primary care practitioners after first-line treatments have failed, and urology is viewed as the last resort in patients who are refractory to established therapies. The complexity of these patients can be a challenge to the most seasoned urology nurse. New and improved drug, surgical and behavioral interventions are now available. This lecture will provide a pathway to advanced urinary incontinence treatments through case study presentations.
