Sherry Pietsch President Adjutant John Snyder The August 2018 meeting of American Legion Post was conducted on August 1 at the Buck Center, Litleton, Colorado. The meeting began with two ceremonies. The frst was a Post Everlasting ceremony for Walter J. Brown who served in the US Navy during the Korean War Era. A resolution recognizing his service to the country will be sent to his family. The second ceremony was a Member Initiation ceremony for John M. Snyder. Mr. Snyder currently serves as the Adjutant for Post 103. Adjutant s Report As of August 1, 2018, a total of 212 membership renewals have been processed. Those numbers include 44 Paid Up for Life, 32 renewing On Line, two new members, and one transfer. As dues come into the Post, all but $4 is sent out to Department of Colorado/National. Other income items included a donation to the All Veterans Honor Guard (AVHG) and one to the Post from Columbine Valley in support of their July 4 th parade. Other expenses included

AVHG, purchase of flags and routine administrative expenses for name tags, awards, ofce supplies and the Post telephone. July Bingo expenses paid a litle over $3,000 in support of Post programs and activities. These included expenses for two Descendants of Veterans Scholarships, the AL State Convention, and the Post s Annual Awards and Installation Banquet. Midryear Budget Review Every year, the new Post Executive Board is required to complete a mid-year review of the Post Budget to identify items that may have been under or over funded and to identify any new activities for the remainder of the year. The reviewed focused on the 20 activities in the Bingo Budget. Seven-line items were identifed with excess funds and those amounts were shifted into the Contribution line item. The Board and membership approved two new activities under Contributions line item including support for the Honor Bell and funds to purchase Christmas presents for Psych Ward patients at the VA Hospital. This VA Project is supported by the Post, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion and has been coordinated by past SAL Commander, Nick Arceo. The total Bingo Budget for 2018 remained at $38,200 which was established at the December 2017 Membership Meeting. JAG Richard Callan SAL Roger Masse Historian Vacant Looking for applicant BINGO Ed Pietsch July bingo expenses in support of Post programs and activities are covered under the Finance Report. The Post had its frst losing month in about four years. Because of smaller atendance and a few big winners, the Post lost just over $100 in July. But things are looking up for August because we had our frst Must Go of the year on August 2 nd. Someone won $4968 at this session. The Must Go results will be report in the next newsleter along with the monthly totals. Ed Pietsch 720-287-2108, email, e_pietsch@msn.com.
