For those who don t know me, my name is Vivian Laurent and I m your new General Manager at Bushey House Beaumont. For those of you that I ve had the pleasure of meeting already, thank you for such a warm welcome over my first few weeks. I d like to invite you all to my Meet the Manager event on the 12th of September at 2pm and hopefully will get to know a few more friendly faces. I m excited to answer any of your questions. For anyone who can t make it I m currently holding a meet and greet surgery every Tuesday from 5-7pm for people who wish to see me outside work hours, please call reception to book in advance. I am proud of my passion and dedication towards the care of the elderly. I am happy when I manage to put a smile on the faces of the people I support. What s Been Happening Meet our Resident Ambassador July Open Day We had a lovely open day! We played an array of outside games and had an ice-cream station with a selection of sprinkles & sauces! Thanks to everyone who came to make the day a huge success Hello! I m Enyd your new Resident Ambassador, I ve lived here at Bushey for over 4 years now and I ve always been the go-to lady! My door is always open if you have any concerns of if you just fancy a chat!
What s Been Happening Feeling Floral! We decorated some jars with Over the last few weeks we ve been doing lots of flower arranging to bring some of the summer inside. We ve made center pieces for the tables in the dining room and for vintage lace and did some flower arrangement and gave them out to some of the residents in the home who ve been poorly or can t get out of bed to brighten up their rooms! our reception
What s Been Happening P.A.T Dog Cooper Ann turns 100! Meet the handsome hound Cooper who s been coming to visit us all every other Tuesday morning! We ve all been loving having a kiss and a cuddle and we think Cooper s been loving it too. Coopers a Miniature Sheltie and loves being pampered, so if you re a doggy person make sure you re around for a hug! Ann turned 100 in July and we were all delighted to see her letter from the Queen! Ann told us some of her favorite birthdays over the century, especially about Ann s love of travelling and all the amazing places she s seen. We had a wonderful afternoon.

A Few Words From Barchester Carer s Week Chief Operations Officer, Adrian Pancott, made a special visit to Lakeside Care Home in Jersey on 12th June to personally award the Care Team with a Cadbury s gift hamper full of chocolatey delights in recognition of Carer s Week. Care staff across all of our homes and hospitals were presented with the Cadbury s chocolate hamper as a token of appreciation for everything they do. International Nurses Day We paid special tribute to all of our nurses on International Nurses' Day to thank them for their dedication to the residents and patients they care for in our homes and hospitals. CEO, Pete Calveley, made a special visit to Longueville Court Care Home in Peterborough on Friday 11th May, where he personally awarded each of the nurses with a branded water bottle as a token of appreciation for their contribution at the home, and to encourage nurses to stay hydrated. Red Oaks Rated Outstanding Staff and residents at Red Oaks celebrated after their recent CQC inspection rating, where they scored an overall Outstanding after being reviewed for a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led service. The CQC inspected the home on 16th and 18th January (the report was released on 6th April) and rated the home as Outstanding' in two key assessment areas ( Caring & Responsive ) and Good in three ( Safe, Effective & Well-led ). Well done to everyone who made this possible!

Nominations are now closed, but we are delighted to announce that we received over 1,500 in total beating out the number from last year by almost 200! The divisional winners will be decided over the summer, and each of them will be invited to a special celebrator lunch and awards ceremony at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on 11 th October.
