Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA): On 05/11/2018, Assistant External Affairs Officer-Intergovernmental Affairs (AEIG) attended the 2018 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Hurricane (Hunter) Awareness Tour at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport. The Federal Coordinating Officer (FCO) participated in five media interviews, and Media Relations Manager also attended. AEIG was available to provide preparedness information to visitors of FEMA s resource table at the event. Joint Information Center (JIC): Staff responded to 25 media inquiries and interview requests regarding Monroe County Public Assistance, hurricane preparedness, recovery, blue tarps and flood insurance. Six interviews were with Spanish language media. On 05/10/2018, WESH-Channel 2, Orlando s NBC affiliate, recorded an interview encouraging Florida residents to purchase flood insurance and prepare for hurricane season. On 05/11/2018, staff supported the FCO for a media briefing and one-on-one media interviews at the NOAA Hurricane Awareness Tour 2018 in Lakeland (Polk County), Florida. Two Hurricane Hunter aircrafts and the director of the National Hurricane Center were featured at the event. The FCO did interviews with CBS News Radio (national), WKMG-TV CBS 6 Orlando, WUFT-FM/WUFT-TV PBS 5 Gainesville, Orlando Sentinel/El Sentinel, and MyRadar.com. Total 6

7 05/14/2018, FOX News Channel Miami Bureau Discussed Irma recovery and Public Assistance. Fox News Miami correspondent said he will contact Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) Point of Contact (PIO) for a possible interview about the reimbursement process and had also contacted the HQ news desk to request an interview with the FEMA Administrator. Planning & Products (P&P): P&P staff provided Florida-specific information to Region IV in preparation for FEMA Administrator s appearance at the 32 nd Annual Governor s Hurricane Conference on 05/17/2018.
