2 What Is NJROTC? NJROTC stands for Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps There is no better teacher than experience A program set up by the navy in order to educate teenagers about leadership skills needed for life. Self-Discipline It is intended to be a cadet ran program. There are two instructors that supervise and teach naval knowledge to the cadets so that they may be in charge of there own departments and jobs. But overall the cadets are in charge of the unit and its daily responsibilities.

4 Normal NJROTC Schedule Monday - Academic Tuesday - Academic Wednesday Uniform Day, Drill Practice Thursday Academic Friday Physical Training Practices For Special Teams Are Done After School Tutoring And Academic Help Is Also Available After School

We will always make sure every cadet is eligible in school before we allow them to take part in unit activities such as special teams We offer tutoring for everyone after school. Cadets from all grade levels and classes help each other with their school work.

11 Drill Team / Color Guard The GHS NJROTC drill team and color guard perform on a nation wide basis against other JROTC units You get to learn rifle and flag movements

12 Teams (cont.) In NJROTC you are sure to fit in. There is a team for every type of person such as Semper Fi, Orienteering, Academic and Rifle. Semper Fi is a physical fitness team part takes in field events with other schools Orienteering is a navigational team that competes with other schools on orienteering courses set up Academic is a knowledge team that will take test during meets. Rifle team is a marksmanship team that uses air rifles to compete with other schools for the best accuracy.

Our unit offers many paths for your child to reach his/her goal of being successful in life by offering many opportunities for your child to reach his/her maximum potential. The skills and friends gained in this unit will aid them for the rest of their lives.
