2 1. GENERAL A. Squadron Leadership School (SLS) 1. The primary purpose of this activity, is to provide SLS training and information, as provided by National Headquarters, to improve members practical and leadership abilities within CAP and understanding of how CAP s core values impact operations and to prepare them for command. 2. The specific objectives: SLS will provide participant s a general understanding of the basic functions of a CAP Squadron B. Training Location: Camp Mabry 2200 W 38 th St Building 15, Room 131 Austin, TX C. Primary Dates & Times: Saturday and Sunday: 17 & 18 September 2016 Sign-in at 0800 for both days. Training will begin at 0830 on Saturday and Sunday. Daytime activities end at 1700 (or when completed) on Saturday and Sunday. D. Alternate Dates: None E. USAF Funding: None F. Contact number: james.glombowski@yahoo.com The event staff will be organized by the course director, support staff and SLS instructors with additions and deletions made by these individuals as needed.

3 2. NOTIFICATION & APPLICATION A. Notification: Announcement of this training will be posted on the Group web page and added to the Texas Wing Calendar. B. Application: To attend this course apply by to SLS Course Director, Capt. James Glombowski at no later than 01 September 2016, by submitting CAPF 17A (Application for Senior Member Activities). C. Exercise Capacity: All CAP members meeting the prerequisites are eligible to attend this training. The maximum number of participants for the class is 25, with the minimum number of participants being 5. If the minimum number is not met by the application deadline the course will be rescheduled. D. Course Fees: A course fee of $25.00 per participant will be charged to cover the cost of course material, facilities, and amenities. This fee will be collected at sign-in on the first day of the course. E. Exercise Enrollment Procedures: All participants are required to submit a CAPF 17A by to the course director no later than 01 September 2016 and, each participant will sign-in on CAPF 11 prior to participation in this event. 3. SAFETY IS PRIORITY ONE Participants are advised to be alert and careful at all times. Each participant must have authorization to attend from their commander in order to attend the course and their Form 160 (Emergency Contact Information) on their person. 3. UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS Per CAPR 39-1, Appropriate CAP uniform will be worn by each student and instructor. The minimum uniform for all members (CAPM ) is Blue Service Uniform (Class B), or Aviator Shirt Uniform. IT IS EXPECTED THAT THESE UNIFORMS BE WORN TO THE COURSE ON SUNDAY FOR THE GRADUATION EXERCISE. A service coat or blazer is optional. Any CAP uniform worn in compliance with CAPM 39-1 can be worn on Saturday. If these uniforms are not available appropriate civilian attire will be acceptable.

4 4. ADMINISTRATION A. Course Materials: Each student will down load and print their student workbook from the CAP National Professional Development web page. The SLS course is the Level Two Course: Technical Training. B. Course Descriptions: C. Sign-In: 6. FACILITIES The course description can be located on-line at the follow URL: SLS: All staff and participants at the training location are require to sign-in on CAPF 11. All attendees will be need to present a current CAP membership card and CAPF 160 at the time of sign-in. A. Camp Mabry: While Camp Mabry is an active military base, access can be can gained by simply showing the security guard at main gate a valid State Drivers Licenses. Notify the guard that you are with the Civil Air Patrol and are attending a training class in building 15. Building 15 is located across from the Parade Grounds. After clearing security take the main drive (Maintenance DR.) until it ends. Turn right on Fairview Dr. and then take the next right which will be General Mabry Dr. Building 15 will be on your right across the street from the Parade Grounds bleachers. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO OBEY ALL POSTED SPEED LIMIT AND TRAFFIC SIGNS WHILE DRIVING ON BASE. B. Classroom: Treat the facilities with the utmost respect. It is expected that the facilities to be returned in the same or better condition as they were made available. Items brought with you will leave with you in addition to items issued to you for the course. The attendees along with the project staff will clean the facility before departure. C. Telephone Access: There are NO telephones available at the squadron s building, students will have to rely on their cellphones. Cell phones will be turned to vibrate or off during the course presentations.

5 7. LOGISTICS A. Dining: B. Medical: Coffee and a continental breakfast will be provided both mornings Lunch both days will be at your own expense. Emergency number is 911 C. Transportation: For those members flying in using corporate aircraft, it is recommend to land at Georgetown Municipal Airport (GTU) which is 30 miles north of Camp Mabry. D. Lodging: No special lodging arrangements have been made and will be the student s responsibility. 8. CONTINGENCIES The exercise may be suspended or terminated, and CAP resources reassigned, ONLY at the direction of an active Redcap Incident Commander, WG/CC, or LO; otherwise, exercises are expected to continue as planned. 9. PREREQUISITES Squadron Leadership School (SLS): Completion of Level 1 and assignment of a specialty track.
