2 True Patriot Love Expeditions Since 2012, the True Patriot Love Foundation has produced ambitious expeditions around the world, pairing business leaders with members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and Veterans. These expeditions highlight the perseverance and unconquerable spirit of our Veterans in the face of adversity, and provide them with long-lasting mentorship opportunities as they transition to civilian life. Proceeds from past expeditions have funded programs that support Veteran transition, including employment placement for 144 injured Veterans, and the creation of virtual reality treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder that is being used by 54 clinicians across the country. True Patriot Love is thrilled to announce it s first-ever women s expedition in April, 2019 which will bring together female business leaders with servicewomen and female Veterans of the CAF with an illness or injury. This group of women will embark on an incredible 100-km snowshoeing adventure across Baffin Island, Nunavut as they face physical, emotional and mental challenges to carry out their mission. Together, they will journey across the Arctic Circle, traverse the Akshayuk Pass and visit the remote and breathtaking Owl River Valley. In addition to successfully completing the adventure, this expedition will: showcase and celebrate the strength and resilience of Canadian women; shine a light on the challenges related to work-life integration that women face every day in both the corporate and military workforce; assist in the transition of the military expedition team members to civilian life; and raise awareness for, and critical funds to address, issues impacting members of the CAF and Veterans across the country. Living for three weeks with members of the military gave us insight into the challenges they face. We have a better understanding of, and are even more inspired to support, the men and women who serve our country. Some of the soldiers on the expedition those we now consider close friends are struggling. We hope that by being a part of this expedition, we eased their struggle in some small way. In turn, they inspired us with their determination, resilience and unwavering commitment to the team. We gained as much from them as they did from us. In 2014 Our brave team skied 100km to conquer the magnetic North Pole. In business leaders and 9 injured Veterans climbed Vinson Massif, Antarctica. In 2017 True Patriot Love brought the challenge home to celebrate Canada s sesquiscentenial. 26 business leaders and 21 injured soldiers mastered three iconic Canadian routes in Newfoundland, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. In 2018 A team of 17 business leaders and injured Veterans trekked to Everest Base Camp and conquered the 20,000 ft. summit of Lobuche East in Nepal. And in 2019 True Patriot Love will pair female business leaders with ill and injured women of the CAF and female Veterans to snowshoe across Baffin Island. 3 3

Luckily, with support from friends, family, and groups like TPL, I managed to recover and as part of the 2018 expedition our team climbed the equivalent of over 1800 flights of stairs. This expedition helped remind me that we can be capable of so much even when we are struggling. I will fondly remember the time spent disconnected from the world, in close quarters with complete strangers, who became brothers and sisters. I consider it to be an experience that helped to get me back on my feet. My TPL expedition journey was a real life-changing experience. All of the positive events that have happened in my life in the past year are as a result of the incredible people I met while climbing the highest mountain in Antarctica.
