Marine Corps Family Team Building is hosting a contest to Salute Your Spouse! See page 3 for details. This month, EFMP will be hosting a summer Open Swim, thanks to Zembiec Pool at Henderson Hall. Please bring your exceptional family members and their siblings. Guests are welcome. However, there should be one adult for every three children. All branches of service are welcome. The first EFMP open swim will be on Saturday, May 30 from Also, EFMP is working with the Henderson Hall Chaplain to start a couples support group for families enrolled in EFMP. Marines and their spouses in the National Capital Area are welcome to join us on the last Thursday of every month from at Henderson Hall Building 21. We challenge you to submit a short video showing how much you appreciate your spouse and have a chance to win a prize such as a spa package, a maid service, or a romantic dinner for two! Plus, the first 20 Marines to submit a video will receive a FREE duffel bag from Marine Corps Family Team Building Henderson Hall, available for pick-up at Bldg. 12 on the Henderson Hall portion of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. Any active duty Marine may enter. Are you up for the challenge? Videos must be submitted after April 27 and before May 5, midnight, EDT. Video must be 2 minutes or less and uploaded to YouTube via the MCCS HH Facebook page. Videos will be pre-screened for appropriateness and will be posted publicly within 48 hours. Videos will be judged on sincerity, overall creativity, and the most likes to the Facebook video post. 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize winners will be announced on May 8 at 3 PM EDT on Facebook. 4 M A Y P A G E 4 TRICARE Beneficiaries Being Targeted by Call Centers and Others For Unsolicited Medical Prescriptions (source: Health.mil) The Defense Health Agency, Office of Program Integrity (DHA-PI) has received a significant number of concerns from our TRICARE beneficiaries regarding unsolicited attempts by Call Centers to encourage them to provide personal identifying information and health information so that they can allegedly provide prescribed cream medications to the TRICARE beneficiary. TRICARE and its contractors never call and ask for personal identifying information or health information. Beneficiaries should be wary of unsolicited attempts by any entity asking them for personal or health information, either by phone or in person. The Call Center will normally cold call and say, "I am a representative calling from XYZ, we are calling to tell you about a benefit TRICARE will cover for you for a prescription pain cream you are eligible for. Do you have any of the following medical issues (list of issues) or pain? If so, TRICARE wants to get you taken care of, all we need are your Doctor s name and your TRICARE information and we will contact your doctor and get these medications or supplies out to you immediately and submit a claim." DHA PI strongly advises you to give NO information to these types of unsolicited request for your personal health information and personal identifying information. Often these Call Centers have identified what limited information they have through google searches or through individuals who have approached you independently and obtained information directly from you. Should you receive a phone call for this information provide NO information. Also, please immediately submit a Fraudline report to our Pharmacy Benefits contractor Express Scripts Inc. (ESI). You can report the issue to ESI: Express Scripts Fraud Tip Hotline: TRICAREfraudtip@express-scripts.com ESI can also flag your profile and reject attempts to bill for these medications. If you do receive unsolicited medication in the mail, you can refuse delivery. Additionally, TRICARE has revised and published the following news article: TRICARE Revises Compound Drug Coverage

6 M A Y P A G E 6 EFMP FAQ of the Month Question: How do I disenroll my family member from EFMP? Answer: By updating and submitting a DD Form 2792 and a DD Form (if applicable). HQMC EFMP will evaluate these documents and either update your status or process disenrollment for your family member if EFMP services are deemed no longer necessary. Ultimately, HQMC EFMP makes the final determination. For enrollment forms and more information, please visit our website at mccshh.com/efmp or call your Family Case Worker at /6510. RESOURCE OF THE MONTH: SERVICE DOGS Vets Adopt Pets: This organization helps navigate through various service dog organizations who specifically cater to military. * Even though an organization says veterans, do not hesitate to pick up the phone and call them because many will assist active duty families as well. Vets Helping Heroes: This organization does not directly provide service dogs. However, they network with an approved list of service dog organizations to provide financial assistance for acquiring a service dog. Contact Vets Helping Heroes directly to find out if you qualify for financial assistance before contacting an organization for a service dog.

8 M A Y P A G E 8 Website Helps Parents, Children With School, Deployment Issues By: Jamie Albers, School Liaison Program Manager The Military Impacted Schools Association (MISA) is a national organization of school superintendents. Their mission is to serve school districts with a high concentration of military Children. Their website was created to help service members, spouses and children navigate the challenges associated with military moves and deployments. Formed in 1986, MISA works on funding (Impact Aid), legislation, partnerships and programs for military families on the move. Parents can access educationrelated information on transferring student records, graduation requirements and more. The site also enables military children and teens to access tips and information to help them cope with family moves and military parent deployments, adapting to new schools, and making new friends. Monitored children's and teen's "chat rooms" also are available on the Web site. The chat rooms, will give children the ability to share their own experiences, which will be most relevant in that age group. Education is an important quality of life program for military families. MISA collaborates with the Department of Defense Education Activity, National Military Family Association, and military leaders to ensure that all military children are afforded a quality education. MISA works with local school districts and commanders to highlight best practices and partnerships that can further meet the needs of military families.
