4 Administrative History Located in Delaware County in east central Indiana, Muncie Community Schools is an urban school district with over 6,000 students in a culturally-diverse community adjacent to Ball State University. Having the most comprehensive course offerings in the area and multiple state-award winning instrumental programs, as well as the addition of a new high performance elementary school, affords MCS the opportunity to be one of the most unique school districts in the nation. The district has nine elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 2 high schools, an alternative program, an area career center, and adult community education programs housed in over 15 locations in the greater Muncie/Delaware County Area. Scope and Contents This collection includes personnel directories, annual reports, financial reports, commencement programs, program proposals, newsletters, and calendars from the Muncie Community Schools in Muncie, Indiana ranging from 1874 to 1995 regarding staffing, educational programs and other school activities.
