5 Armor Captain s Career Course You are the commander of a CO/TM. You are task organized with two mechanized infantry platoons and one armor platoon, one engineer platoon, one mortar section, on scout platoon, two LOGPAC cargo trucks, and a civil affairs section. Your scouts completed reconnaissance of the route from the start point to the release point and the CO/TM has linked up with the ICRC to escort the relief supply convoy. The CO/TM s advance guard has arrived at the release point EN , vicinity Gornja Gusterica. The 4 th Civil Affairs (CA) team will provide linguistic support during this operation. During this learning objective, you will establish security at the release point, and conduct humanitarian assistance and disaster relief activities based on your higher commander s intent, METT-TC, and ROE/ROI. Armor Captain s Career Course You are the commander of a CO/TM. You are task organized with two mechanized infantry platoons and one armor platoon, one engineer platoon, one mortar section, on scout platoon, two LOGPAC cargo trucks, and a civil affairs section. The CO/TM is currently located in the base camp, vicinity northeast of Ajvalija. GSPF have taken an International Red Cross volunteer hostage, and they are demanding that all US forces withdraw from the country or they will execute the hostage. The location of the hostage has been obtained through a British intelligence agent. The CO/TM s mission in to conduct a tactical movement to vicinity OBJ STALAG, at EN where the company will conduct a raid to rescue the Red Cross worker. Operations will be conducted during daylight due to the expected movement of the hostage; however, speed and surprise will be vital to mission success. Civilians are known to be near the objective, identification, friendly or foe is crucial.. Do not become decisively engaged prior to reaching OBJ STALAG. The endstate of this operation will be the safe recover of the hostage and no friendly casualties or damaged equipment due to fratricide.

Evaluate the situation: Conduct line of sight analysis and select the most advantageous position Determine triggers for lifting and shifting fires. Plan for Class V resupply. Prepare fire control plan that integrates both direct and indirect fires.
