8 Branch Modernization Priorities Near / ITEP: Increased power that provides the Reach, Protection, and Lethality for the CCDR. The last evolutionary development to bridge the gap to a revolutionary capability of FVL ASE: Advanced Threat Detection System, Common IR Countermeasure, and Modern Radar Warning Receiver mitigate threats to aircraft for greater freedom of action CH-47F Block II: Improved drivetrain and airframe restores 4,000lbs of payload and sets the stage for future capability insertions not necessarily replacing all current F-models Increased Lethality: Long Range Missile + Lightweight Precision Munition (UAS); every target doesn t require a Hellfire MID / Lethality: Scalable, tailorable, longer range munition options with longer range and more capable sensors and disruptive technologies; leverages Multi-function Electronic Warfare (MFEW) Air Future UAS: More survivable, agile, runway independent air vehicles teamed with scalable control interfaces that provides the commander with increased options for a broader missions ASE + DVE + Autonomy: the capability to fly and fight in all environments FAR / Continue FVL: Field Armed Reconnaissance, Attack, Lift and Cargo variants including supervised autonomy to begin replacing legacy aircraft Continue Future UAS: Field variants optimized for missions and echelons Aviation funding strategy preserves readiness today while accelerating FVL and other critical Reach, Protection and Lethality capabilities required to fight and win in the future OE 8
