1 Association of Inspectors General 524 West 59th Street, 3400N New York, NY TO: Phil Zisman, Executive Director FROM: Frank Chen and Vasily Cheipesh RE: Analysis of IG Institute Attendance Date: March 10, 2016 Summary This report analyzes the attendance for the last five Inspector General Institutes that were held in: San Antonio, TX (2014); Jacksonville, FL (2014); Virginia Beach, VA (2015); Jacksonville, FL (2015); and the upcoming Jacksonville, FL (2016) 1. A summary of our findings is as follows: There were a total of 532 attendees: 93 attended CIG (18%); 177 CIGA (33%) and 262 CIGI (49%). 259 (49%) of the attendees came from state OIGs; 80 (15%) from local government OIGs; 118 (22%) from military OIGs; 55 (11%) Federal civilian OIGs; and 16 (3%) from international OIGs. 2 Attendees came from 26 states and 4 foreign countries. There were a total of 142 different agencies that sponsored Institute attendees. The graphs and tables on the following pages illustrate our findings in greater detail. 1 The Jacksonville 2016 Institute is scheduled for March 21-25, 2016, and the attendance numbers utilized in this report are based on the advanced registration. 2 Of the 532 attendees, there were 22 who worked at agencies that were deemed to be OIG-like by the Association s Professional Certification Board or were John Jay College student scholarship recipients. The OIGlike agencies were: MS Office of the State Auditor (6 attendees), US Marshals Service (5), John Jay Scholarship (3), City of Rochester, NY Office of Public Integrity (2), NY Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Office of Investigation (2), Broward County, FL Sheriff (1), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesia (1), New York City Business Integrity Commission (1), and New York Medicaid Provider Office of Investigation (1) 1
