The members of the Opelousas Central Committee District VII are the hosts and hostesses of this years Conference. The chosen theme for this year s conference is Drawn to the Wood, Rooted in Christ. This packet contains all the forms you will need to complete your registration process. All deadlines for registration, credentials, competitions and candidates profile form are set for May 1, Please send the full amount requested for credentials to the designated address on the credentials form and the candidate profile form. The acceptable methods of payment are Council/Court/Branch check, money order, or cashier s check. Please adhere to all deadlines. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card. You will be charged for the first night s stay plus tax. Room rates are: $ plus 14% tax per night for single or double occupancy (two double beds) Room Cancellations: Must be done 2 days prior to the day of your arrival or you will be charged for one night. To cancel your reservation please call Parking: Valet Parking is available for $15 per day. RULES AND CODE OF CONDUCT; DRESS CODE; ACKNOWLEDGMENT FORM Please review the Conference/Hotel Rules and Code of Conduct and make a copy of them for each attendee. All attendees are required to abide by the Conference/Hotel Rules and Code of Conduct and they will be strictly adhered to. Make sure that each junior and a parent/guardian for that junior sign the Acknowledgement Form, certifying that they have read the Conference/Hotel Rules and Code of Conduct and the Dress Code. The Acknowledgement Form should be sent to the State Director/State Directress by May 1, KPC CHILD PROTECTION CERTIFICATION KPC Child Protection Policy requires that all adult attendees (whether a member of KPC or not) complete the Diocesan Certification for your church parish. This form must be completed for each adult attendee, signed by the Grand Night/ Lady and contain the Council/ Court Seal. These forms must be sent in advance to the Director or Directress along with your credentials form. For more information about your diocesan training, please contact your local diocese about the Child Safe Environment program and training. According to the KPC Child Protection Policy, all Chaperones must be age 21 or older.

3 KPC JUNIOR STATE CONFERENCE CONFERENCE/HOTEL RULES AND CODE OF CONDUCT THE SWIMMING POOL IS STRICTLY OFF LIMITS. The Conference Headquarters, Hosts, and the National Office WILL NOT be responsible for ANY accidents. This rule applies to ALL in attendance, including the chaperones. Each Court/Branch will be responsible for making juniors aware of the Conference Rules & Code of Conduct and the Dress Codes. NO junior will be allowed to bring jam boxes or loud music. Nor will any junior be allowed to just sit and loiter in common areas. Junior Knights/Daughters MUST be supervised at ALL times. DO NOT leave your juniors in their rooms alone or running around the hotel unsupervised. We have planned activities for the juniors and ALL Juniors should be in a meeting or supervised. FOLLOW the AGENDAS Ask Questions. Juniors are here to take care of their State Conference Business. One (1) chaperone to every Four (4) juniors. CURFEW FOR JUNIORS WILL BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO: Thirty (30) minutes after the completion of the Talent Show and Thirty (30) minutes after the completion of the Dance. Juniors who are in violation of any of these rules or disruptive, risk the entire Court/Branch being disciplined for their actions. All attendees of the Conference, including chaperones, are to abide by the Conferences rules and code of conduct. Commanders/Counselors and Chaperones: Please read and distribute the above rules and regulations to juniors and parents. Make sure that each junior and a parent/guardian for that junior sign the Acknowledgement Form, certifying that they have read the Conference/Hotel Rules and Code of Conduct and the Dress Code. It provides crucial information for caregivers in the event of illness or medical emergency. Accuracy and thoroughness are encouraged. Sections I, II and V are mandatory. 13 2018 Jr. Louisiana State Conference Committee Choices Please read carefully the Duties of Committees of the LA Jr. State Conference. Select one (1) committee on which you would enjoy working and fill out the information below. Return this form with your credentials by May 1, Your timely return will enable us to make assignments and hopefully let you know which committee you will be working on prior to the Conference. Delay in returning information on time may result in Council/ Court not being listed in agenda booklet. AWARDS: This is a JOINT committee that will report on any suggestions on was to award and recognize juniors. BYLAWS & CONSTITUTION COMMITTEE: This committee is designed to review & revise the Juniors Daughters State Bylaws. CHARITY: This is a JOINT committee that will present to the body, charitable ideas/activities the Jr. Members of Knights of Peter Claver Louisiana can do during the Jr. Conference and throughout the year as a group. CREDENTIALS: This committee is responsible for getting the tally of the Jr. Conference voting strength. Credentials should be reviewed. Delegates not present will not be counted. Only alternate delegates to the delegates should be counted. Permission should be granted by the body to seat someone else from the court. DRESS CODE: This committee will review the current Dress code of the Louisiana Jr. State Conference and make recommendations to the body. Elections: This committee is responsible for nomination and election of those members aspiring for office. EMERGING LEADERS: This is a JOINT committee that will report to the body the activities of the Emerging Leaders. This committee will also come up with ideas that will assist the juniors in the transition from the Jr. to the Sr. Division. FUNDRAISING: This is a JOINT committee that will present to the body fundraising ideas that will replenish the Jr. State Conference Funds for the Jr. Knights and Jr. Daughters. The committee will also make a financial report in the future on any fundraising activities that were previously done for the Jr. State Conference fund. GUARDS: This committee is responsible for taking the password at the entrance of the meeting chamber and receiving urgent messages to be given to the president. Guards are to work closely with the Jr. State Mistress at Arms to make sure everyone adheres to the dress code before entering the meeting chamber and that order is maintained during the meeting sessions. HIGHLIGHTS & EVALUATION: From the beginning of the conference to the close of the conference, this committee should list the high and low points of the conference and vote for or against and state the reason for doing so. PRAYER: This committee will review submissions for the Juniors Meditation Prayer Booklet. PROGRAMMING & PLANNING: This committee was designed to create new activities or programs for juniors to participate in during the conference. This committee will also select a Theme for next year s conference from the entries submitted to the Director/Directress. This is a JOINT committee. RECRUITMENT: This committee is tasked with working with the recruitment committees in the local courts to develop strategies for recruiting new members. SICKLE CELL: Monies should be reported by KPC Districts (I-VII). The top three units (Branches or Courts) should be recognized. This is a JOINT Committee. STEERING: This committee will review the rules for the order of the conference and make any recommendations/changes if necessary. TECHNOLOGY: This is a JOINT committee that will present to the body ideas that will enhance our Jr. Conference by utilizing today s technology. The committee can present ideas that will assist with registration, credentials, voting, etc. This committee will review all Slideshow Competition Entries. TIME & PLACE: This is a JOINT committee. Since the conferences and state picnics are rotated by districts, this committee will only present a report which states the date, city and place of the next Jr. Conference and State Picnic. The Director/Directress will provide the information to the committee.
